Hey guys,

Like a lot of you, I have been wondering why Goldmund's been banned [1, 2]. I reached out to him through email and he gave me his best guess as to what happened and his thoughts on the matter. He also gave me permission to post it here.

The story is that I woke up today, clicked on the forum to check some PM’s and saw a banner that said …banned. Ban Reason:Bad Attitude. I could hardly believe my hungover eyes.

Was in the ocean all day and thought about it a bit. The only reason I could come up with was that last night, during my pre-gaming fire starting--push-ups, 4 fingers of mescal, and rvf—I wrote on the humility thread that the OP should “stop giving a fuck what people think.”

I received no warning. There was something silly I wrote a couple of months ago that got me a warning, but this time, there was nothing. Which does not make sense, and I would love an explanation.

There are some other suspicions I have, but am not going to discuss them on the gossip-dumpster that the internet can be—mano y mano, I’d be glad to talk.

Share this out with the guys if you want—rvf has been a special place for me in the past few months—especially meeting other members and befriending them. I was looking forward to doing more of that in the future.

If the ban were lifted, I’d come back with no hard feelings. If Roosh asked me to tone it down or stop linking to my blog, I’d comply. His house, his rules—I respect that.

Could the mods comment on this? At least please keep updating the banned members thread.

I understand that we must be vigilant and keep trolls, feminists, and entryists out of the manosphere, but it seems like some good guys get caught in the line of fire.

I noticed he was banned last night.

I had no idea why.

I thought he brought a lot of value.

I will say that to maintain the level of caliber that you find here at RVF requires a heavy hand. Without it, we would be run over by trolls on the 1st of every month.

I will also say that Tuth and Roosh (only mods right?) rule with a heavy fist, but it is a fair fist. That's why there is the warning level. Most minor infractions incur a warning, wich is a simple: "Bro, smarten the fuck up" from the mods.

While brand new trolls get banned outright, an established forum member that may go on drunken rant one night will only receive a warning. They understand that the guys who give value to forum may deserve a bit a slap on the wrist if you will.

If your an established member and recieve a 100% ban without warning, you violated some major man code.

That being said, I was also surprised Goldmund got banned. But something tells me there is something more going on behind the scenes.

So far looks like ban was unjust but I would love to hear the story of the person that banned him. My suspiscion is that something was going on that public (us) dont know.

I have a feeling it's because of this thread. The OP was asking for some genuine advice, and Goldmund's(his gif response) was a bit.. harsh I guess?

That's true, though it could have been taken out of context as well. Hopefully that wasn't the case though.

Goldmund has been one of the most insightful posters since I joined RVF so I'm shocked to hear he is banned. Reading through the 'Humbling moments' thread, maybe OP found his advice to be too critical but nothing harsh that deserved a no warning ban.

Damn. Goldmund had some great and insightful posts and threads. This seems so sudden. To be fair, his response to the OP in the 'humbling moments' thread made me laugh. He just seemed to be busting the guys balls and telling him to not take life so seriously.

First post of Goldmund's that I read was the Montauk datasheet, and it was fantastic. Going to get out there at some point. Everything else he posted was pretty fucking and the only thing I saw that could've been ban-worthy was that he linked his blog a few times. This is definitely a head scratcher.

Goldmund was one of my favorite new posters. I'm not much of a poster myself, but his posts aided my game considerably since we had a lot of similarities geographically and game-wise.

Oh well. Another one bites the dust.

Liked Goldmund and a lot of his stuff. Suprised he got the boot - maybe it was the blog promoting/linking stuff?

Am also wondering what happened to Screwston (Houston) and why he got banned. Anyone know the reason?

He got banned because he's a dick. There's no need for public explanation for someone who is publicly disrespectful to other members, even after being warned, regardless of whether they are "cool" or not.

Also, one week ban for Wald for seeking and starting drama on the forum. This isn't a forum for women.
