It's 100% political here and rigged to suit our labour needs. We import professionals to serve us coffee but whom quickly fill gaps once our established base of workers retire or fade away. The average Canadian is protected to do useless busy work that is above pouring coffee and driving cabs.

This is only the immigration you see in the newspapers.

The plans for the US and Canada are to make those countries predominantly Spanish speaking. This is no joke. There are quite a few documents out there - even so called government white-papers.

As far as Americans competing for the same jobs go - an example: meat packing was such a lucrative job in the US in the 1950s that an average unionized worker could buy a house and support a stay-at-home wife, 3 kids and 2 cars with it. Nowadays a lot of the work is done by illegal immigrants. The same is happening in other parts. Companies have no legal consequence for hiring them, so they do.

In most countries in the EU they had draconian laws against hiring illegals - usually the fine was around the level of one year's wage for a unionized worker (for example in construction - with benefits) - just for one incidence. The same goes for all other low-wage activities the underclass do. Why the fuck does the busboy and the gardener's assistant in Switzerland get paid 25$/hour and it is no burden to society? Simple - the whole system is geared towards it and hiring an illegal is something no one really would dare due to very high penalties.

The plutocracy wishes to change that in Switzerland too, but their localized democratic system is one touch bitch.

RE: What happened to Mark Cuban?
Back when labor unions were strong, immigration was restricted, and globalization was yet to occur, working men made a high wage and had job security. That has changed as corporatization, financialization, outsourcing, and labor-based migration are lowering the demand for labor, especially blue collar labor. The result is that many American workers have been pushed into joblessness or low-wage (often part-time) employment. Labor is now just an inexpensive and fungible commodity.
