I've been thinking about getting some tank tops for my wardrobe. I guess it could show off your defined arms, but it might also make you look like a wife-beater or cholo. Would you suggest it over a V-neck? What are some issues of proper fit and ways to style it? Do you have to trim or shave your armpit hair?

I found these for $3.85 each online, what do you think?

Tank top for daygame, beach, pool parties, outdoor music festivals, outdoor activity groups etc if you have some muscle or and definition for sure. I'd recommend beach brand tanks with some color and design for these situations. Grey or black may be fine for workouts, otherwise look low class and cheesy imo (thug wannabe - white trash).

If I was ripped and tan I would wear Euro trunks to beaches, pool parties, jacuzzis.

Tank for day, v neck for night.

Honestly, I LOVE pocket tees for casual nights. Edgy Hawaiian short sleeve prints are big right now also

I almost exclusively wear solid colored shallow v-necks. The ones at Old Navy are cheap and fit me well.

I personally think tank tops make you look like a fraternity bro, unless at a beach or pool. There are of course exceptions.

I prefer cut-offs for the gym/around the house.

Another huge scoring point is if you aren't loaded with arm, back, and chest hair tanks can make you look young and sportier to help you go after the 18-22 yo's which are the best anyways.

2nd set of tanks look see thru and a bit too girly.

First one has a good look if you are into the music scene/art. Last picture is more beach bro but a little plain colored for my taste.

Volcom, Billabong, and Hurley I have all seen good ones.

Takes more confidence to wear a tank and you need to be more in shape to sell it unless you are a skinny rocker guy the first can work.

I am based in SoCal my taste are beach-biased.

I don't know how beach tanks would fly in NYC in summer walking down the street. May be better to go more graphic art etc.

You can easily offset the casual nature of a tank with dark fitted jeans and stylish sneakers, boots etc with a watch, hat or other accessories.

If you have the body for it you will get stronger attention from girls, no doubt about it. Just like you do when suited up well at the high end scene.

v-necks and tanks are the top cheapest shirts you can get. buy a few of each.

You shouldn't be wearing v-necks unless you are jacked or fat. V-neck has an unflattering slimming effect on those with average or slim body types.

Best colors for Tanks are dark gray (like in your picture) and black in my opinion, a navy blue might also fit in there too. Don't wear white tanks though, as they look trashy as hell in my opinion.

For V-Necks, I got a couple of Wine Red, Grey, White, and blue/navy blue ones that look pretty good.
