I can only speak to my own experience. I lost most of my hair in my early 20's. Without a doubt, girls have rejected me or been under the attraction threshold on account of it. However I've never once had a girl tell me "sorry I'm just not into bald guys." I gravitate to girls who are into me, so those who aren't are kind of transparent.

I would guess that for 2/3rds of women it's either a dealbreaker or a negative attraction-wise. The other 1/3rd seem to be all the more into it - you can pick any number of actors who have that look and are considered hot by girls.

One girl told me on date #1 that she loved bald guys, however I had been wearing a hat when I did the initial pickup, so it was a nice bonus for her when we met up again and she saw I was clean on top.

It limits options for my "look." I've realized that I need either a really good and well-groomed beard or a stout, ripped Bruce Willis body look to be congruent. It's a drag I guess,

As for hats:

I wear them frequently, honestly I've never once put on a hat with the thought that it would hide my dome from some kind of social stigma. The dermatologist told me that a hat habit was preferable to sunblock on top. I take the hats on and off during an evening, so no girl would think I was trying to hide it.

Good elegant hatwear is an important component of classic clothing style. Think Mad Men. I've gotten lots of compliments from girls (including a few I've later banged) on my hatwear. Some kind of fedora and a driver's cap/Kangol are good starters, with a porkpie or dictator hat as a changeup.

In hipster/edgy circles, you can really make a statement with offbeat headwear.

Baseball caps say "fratty bro" which works for some guys and with certain girls, not at all for others.

I've never tried hats, caps or any other head wear that wasn't specifically designed to keep me warm outside on a cold winter day.

As I said in another "bald" thread, I've never at all felt that balding got me any less attention or attraction from girls than if I'd had a full head of hair past my early 20s (I'm actually struggling a bit to remember exactly when my hairline started receding at a quicker pace - probably late 20s - I had most of the time had a shaven head or 2-4 mm buzz cut since I was around 20).
I certainly can't rule out - and I'm sure it's pretty much a given - that I've been overlooked by some women who would have been interested if I'd had (more) hair on my head, but I'm struggling to remember even one example from those around 15 years where a girl made it obvious that my bald or visibly balding head was the reason she wasn't interested (I was however somewhat more oblivious to many clues until I discovered game fairly recently).
That was primarily in Denmark.

The last year and a half living in Bulgaria I get more IOIs than ever during day time, from women around 20 up to 40+. I've never really considered my face worth more than a 5 on the looks scale (got a little bit of a thuggish look, though more often than not with a smirk on my face these days), maybe a 6 if I'm being generous, and I actually feel - whether imagined or not - that my shaven head or 2 mm buzz cut and facial stubble makes me more attractive than when I had hair many years ago.
Though as far as those IOIs go I'm sure being in significantly better shape than most guys I see my age (and a whole lot of much younger guys as well) - and making sure to wear t-shirts or shirts that show it off - probably bears a good part of the responsibility. Fewer of them to go around when I'm wrapped in a winter jacket.

The framing part is also what I believe is most important. I definitely notice a difference in how women react initially if I wear a cap/hat or not. It's unfortunate but definitely there. One thing I've found to help is getting a tan if you're white and balding, but not shaved. Lessens the contrast between the hair and the skin.

If your hairline is in the receding mode, I'd recommend sporting the buzzcut asap. I think it shows a sort of acceptance of your state rather than trying to appear like you still have your hair.

I wear hats to cover my bald head, and can testify that they have a good secondary role of attracting attention to me. just make sure the hat is matching with the rest of your attire, and not too big. It helps to eliminate or cover up one possible impediment, while attracting attention in doing so.

I wear something like a TWEED GATSBY Newsboy Cap, but only when the temperature begins to drop, mid to late fall, winter and maybe early Spring if it's still brisk outside.

I have a few of them in different colors and textures. Matches well with different sportcoats, overcoats and even leather. However, I only wear one when the weather dictates it, always take it off whenever I go inside anyplace and it's more of an accessory and to keep my head warm than anything else. Otherwise, I rock my shaved head.

Go proud boys, take pride in that masculine pate...of course follow the other advice in this thread and others when rocking a shaved head, get in shape first, a tan or some color(if you're white), accentuate your appearance through, classic, high quality material, appropriate and most of all, well fitting clothing and you're good to go......

I started going bald at 19 and finally a girl I knew talked me into shaving my head. The result was overwhelmingly positive as far as improving my look. It might not work for everyone, but I've had attractive women come up to me out of the blue wanting to rub my head. Seriously.

I'm sure there are women who don't go for guys with shaved heads, but I don't care -- I do it because I like it. If women happen to like it as well, great. But if you find it can fit your look/features, don't be afraid to rock it.

Interesting thread. I remember reading an interview with Dean Koontz (horror writer) where he was asked about why he decided to "upgrade" his hair. he said he got tired of looking like G. Gordon Liddy. His hair looks awesome even if he is in his sixties, but I'd imagine he paid a fortune for it.

I have lost most of my hair to male pattern baldness. I have got addicted to wearing beanies. It started when I joined Gold's Gym and I saw a lot of other guys would wear them during workout a couple years ago. I have many and they are very versatile and look good. I believe more so than any other type of hat in my opinion. Everyone says how great I look in them and how it makes me look younger as well. I tend to agree and feel that way as well.

Now the problem is it's my "crutch" and I always have to be wearing one. When I do pick up a girl and get a bang I take it off. Most of them have said nothing or wow the bald look... cool. My buddies have said not too worry about it. They say that beanie is you and part of your look and persona.

I know it's not like everyone is looking at me and thinking: "hmmm... why is he wearing a beanie - what's he hiding." It's amazing how stupid shit can really get into your head sometimes.

I've lost most of my hair in the past several years. I look completely different with a hat on, younger definitely, and I have the added burden that one of the hottest women I ever dated/banged once told me how sexy I look in a baseball cap (and this is when I had a full head of hair).

There are definitely girls that won't give you a chance without a full head of hair, but I've learned to just keep it short and well trimmed, keep my body in shape, and focus on accentuating the advantages that dating an older guy offers. I do miss my hair, but the less I think about not having it, the less it seems to be an issue in attracting women to my bed.

My brother was balding from his early 20's. He got an FUE hair transplant which is virtually scar free. He still has thinning at the crown of his head but his hairline is square and framed.

Even though he is clearly balding this essentially made it irrelevant. The face is framed and he looks young/youthful & stylish with the buzz.

He actually got it done in Turkey which is apparently one of the best countries [For FUE] & only ran about 5k. Decent option for those looking to frame the face & reverse the 'attractive' points hairloss deducts from the face.

I have a shaved head and look somewhat like a muscular Ed Norton in American history X, except way more beard.

You get the beard to compensate for the bald head. I do wear hats/caps too but almost always do it like T.I.



It's like you're teasing your baldness, so people know that you're shaved and bald right off the bat, but you aren't revealing it fully yet.

These are the best two beanies I've found in my opinion and I probably have close to 50 beanies. They go with everything because of their colors. They even look good when you dress up. When I hit the club this
is my gear:

Black slim-fit coated jeans - Seven for all mankind
Black leather moto-jacket - Affliction
Black Leather boots - John Varvatos
Tight charcoal shirt - Buckle
Beanie - Neff/Zumiez





Put on one of these two beanies and it looks and makes me feel badass. Take off the beanie and I feel like I have one arm. I even wore it in the summer because the one is really lightweight and it breathes way better than a baseball cap.

Now once I get a chica in the bedroom or to my house I take it off. They don't freak. Funny story, I banged one saturday night and when I went to the bathroom to chat as she was getting ready to leave. She was combing her hair and a clump of her hair landed on the floor. She was kinda embarrassed and picked it up real quick and said: "you didn't see that." Looks like it was part of a hair extension I guess.

Man, I gotta dig deep on inner game and get rid of these beanies or something. Too much of a security blanket. On the plus side, I'm 6'2" and ripped and look pretty decent. I guess you can't have it all and have to take the hand you are dealt. Could always be worse.

Well I rarely wear a cap. I've been losing hair since my mid-20s and more intensely since my late 20s. I always shave it off and haven't yet tried the variety of hats. Although I always shave my head, my balding is obvious - what I've seen is that while many girls will keep looking at the top of my head while we talk, others do not do so as much. It seems some girls (regardless of their age) will definitely not give a balding guy the time of day. I concede that my opinion would be completely valid only if we could eliminate any other factor that would cause rejection at a particular moment. On the other hand despite balding, I've still banged a few teens and girls in their early 20s. I'm in my mid-30s now and I'll stick my neck out and say from experience up to a maximum of two-thirds of females in most settings will outright react negatively to me because I'm balding (once again that's if we could eliminate any other factor that would cause that to occur at that particular moment). I'm referring to their initial, unfiltered reaction the first time you talk to her. Other gentlemen here might corroborate or refute the two-thirds estimate. I could be wrong and any other bias of hers could be responsible for her first reaction. I suppose other clearly balding guys here might be familiar with that type of reaction from females but I'm learning to live with it. Lastly, losing hair obviously eliminates options for styling your hair. Non-balding men might never truly grasp this. And it might make it more challenging to go after younger girls as balding is a clear sign of advancing age. I say these things in a matter-of-fact sense instead of making excuses or holding onto limiting beliefs.

If 2/3 are rejecting a 'bald' guy off first impressions those same 2/3 girls would likely have [In most cases] rejected that same guy [Off first impressions] if he had hair. In this case however the bald man has something to easily attribute it too.

The reality is that for a majority of men, 2/3 of girls [Especially in Western countries] are rejecting men on first impressions [Hair Loss or not].

I think the reality is, if you're good looking with hair in most cases you're good looking without it. If you aren't attractive with hair, you'll be less so without it.

This probably seems like a negative post but considering most men start a conversation with the girl thinking 'would not bang' hair loss can be a motivating factor to maximise ones other attributes.

Guys for the most part are always a work in progress. More often than not [Unless you've taken immaculate care of yourself] guys can still look better post hair loss than they did pre hair loss.

Have any of you ever had drunk chicks try and steal your hats while you're in the club? It seems like every single time I try and wear some sort of headgear some dumb bitch will try and run off with it and it's a huge piss-off. That'd be the one problem I'd have with wearing hats indoors in a place where people are being drunk and shit.

For my two cents, I'd re-emphasise that if you feel the need/desire to go bald, make bloody sure you are ripped or at least can look like you have an athletic build. Bald and pudgy/overweight is the Look of Death for purposes of game.
