Dealing with an ex that can't move on
I attempted to search for a thread relating to this topic, but ended up being inundated with threads on the reverse. It'd be safe to say that a lot of you have left women in the rearview, who might not have been quite ready to let you go. How do you handle a woman who cannot get over you? Especially if (in my case) she has a history of self-injury?

RE: Dealing with an ex that can't move on
Just gotta have as clean a break as possible, but don't block her number/e-mail. See below on that. If she's acting really nuts, like stalking you and bugging you at work and stuff, get a restraining order. That has the bonus effect of casting doubt on any bullshit accusations she might levy against you out of spite.

Self injury isn't your problem, what are you supposed to do, be stuck with this chick forever because she might hurt or kill herself otherwise? If she's that fucked in the head she belongs in a padded room. I've dated cutters before. Never again.

What you really need to be worried about is if she gets pissed and accuses you of rape or something to "get back at you". That's why I said don't block her number or e-mail, so you can document what she's sending. If she's sending you a bunch of texts and e-mails trying to get you back in her life, a rape accusation will look pretty suspect.

I live in a small town and I keep running into a few exes with whom I had unpleasant breakups. Just happened today at the store, she pretended not to notice me as she walked right past me head on 3 feet away. Rolleyes I'm always mildly worried one of these days one of them will flip the fuck out because they see me and decide to screw me over with the court system. About 8 years ago I had a chick get a restraining order against me through her university (not like a real one, I guess I was just banned from the university property) because she freaked out one day while I was living 1000 miles away and hadn't seen her in 6+ months. Bitches be crazy.

Not your problem man.
Fuck her if you're bored, or just leave her be if you still have a soul.

Set her texts to go to somewhere you don't have to see if they bother you (but do not delete as weambulance said).
Fixing her inability to cope with life, is not your job.

Imagine your boat is sinking in the ocean, you've got three friends with you... Fred and Jerry grab life jackets, and Leslie grabs an anchor. You think that's a bad idea and she thinks you should save her from drowning.
Its not your job to drown because she's too stupid to float.
If she's too dumb to preserve herself...
Let go and let her sink.
Natural selection at work.
