Well, regardless of thread placement I'll contribute.

1. No matter what your income, avoid anything that's pre-made and sold in packages. This includes condiments.

2. Avoid anything made with sugar, grains and flour. Look up "paleo diet".

3. The quick and dirty food triangle: you can mix protein and carbs, protein and fats, but NEVER carbs and fats.

Veggies are always cheap, have a salad.

Not broke but I'm frugal.

Buy stew meat, it's tough but cheap, half a day in the crock pot will soften it up.

Seriously, WSE has hit the nail on the head. Golden advice.

It's easy to eat healthily on the cheap as unprocessed foods are less expensive. However, don't take it too far. Your health is an investment, and the most important investment you'll ever make. If I were skint I would prioritise decent food over going out.

I'm off to cook £5 worth of quality steak for dinner.
