TL;DR - Guy goes to bar, has some old man insist on paying for his tab. Goes to another bar, old man comes along and pays for him again. As he is leaving, old man puts his arm around his waist and propositions him to come over and use his washroom.

I wished him a pleasant evening and just booked it. After the experience, I felt incredibly vulnerable. It's hard to describe the feeling, but I know many of redditors on this sub have had similar situations happen to them on a regular basis. Being on the receiving end really put things into perspective for me.

Edit: To those saying I shouldn't have accepted the drinks, you are correct. I did refuse twice at the first bar, but he insisted. At the second bar, he threw down cash before I could even place my drink order.

Dude should lift more and work on his physical presence. I haven't had to tell a dude to back off more than once (for whatever the reason) since I hit 165 lbs of lean mass (@ 5'10").

I went to a bar tonight with a buddy but he was feeling sick so went home. I wanted to get drunk so decided to stay there. Got into a conversation with a guy, I could see he was poor as fuck so bought him a couple of drinks when I was going to buy some myself. I only bought him beers because I could afford to do so and its not going to dent my wallet.

I am not gay or anything but if I was interested in the other person buying then a drink is the last thing I'd do. You are falling into the supplicator frame and I would have thought, if anything, if you want to get into the pants of the other, you should get them to buy the booze.

So many men out there have got it wrong, going about it the wrong way.

Many years ago, for whatever reason, late at night, I went and sat in a park (next to my house). This middle aged man appeared out of the blue and started a conversation. He ended up putting his hands over my chest/nipples.

It was only later it dawned on me that this was a bit odd and put it down to the guy being gay or something. A few weeks later, I ended up being in the company of him and his wife.

He felt so uncomfortable to the point of appearing to have a panic attack. That was enough justice for being 'violated'.

Even if this were true, the benefits that women get from all this attention in life are so large that not a single one of them would give them up willingly. I think this sorta topic has been brought up many a times, the whole gay movement and everything has really thrown off regular dude relationships. The art of manliness blog does a lot of writeups on this and similar topics, basically showing pics of dudes in olden times hugging and stuff. Not that I want to run around hugging all my boys but at the same time I agree everything is perceived as gay these days. I think this has definately put a damper on making friends.

My old roomate used to go out solo all the time, he kinda got me curious as I would have never even thought of doing that but thought it sounded intersting, he always wound up making friends or being "adopted" by some group so I was like hell I'll give it a try. Started going out solo. Was sitting at a bar one night, chatted up some girls who came and went. Then a dude comes over and sits next to me when there's plenty of other seats, found it a bit wierd but whatever. Anyhow, he starts chatting me up, my first thought is, is this dude trying to pick me up or something. didn't really give me any indication he was but its like your first reaction these days.

Turns out he just moved to town from down south for a job, doesn't really know anyone or have any friends. Apparently he had plans to meet up with a group of girsl for one of their birthdays who he sorta knew. Wound up inviting me along, and it was basically me him and about 20 girls that evening so dude most definately wasn't trying to pick me up but I almost automatically walked away when someoen tried to strike up a convo or friendship just because it struck me as weird when it was really completely understandable and normal.

Then on the otherhand though you have situations like this with the OP.

The first time was when I was 19. I was hanging out with a coworker and he reached around me and tried to play with my digit. I removed his hand and excused myself. Didn't hang out with him again, obviously. I never thought about responding with violence and in retrospect, he was much stronger than me and their didn't seem to be anything to be gained by punishing him.

The second time, was a tailor in a Chinese upscale shop, while he was sizing me for a shirt. I complained to management and when they claimed that it was all a misunderstanding, I told them that neither I nor my friends would be shopping for their brand. I've kept my promise. You can all help me out by never purchase K-Boxing brand clothing.

If I'd kicked his ass, he would have called the police and they would have called me a liar because I'm a foreigner.

The third time, I was at a party in the USA and all the girls asked to see my uncircumcised penis. So whipped it out and the gay brother of the host couple made a grab for it. I removed his hand, but I let it go because I didn't think that I'd enjoy kicking his ass right in front of his brother.

In none of these cases, I never felt compelled to use violence. I am capable of violence, but I don't operate with much emotion in situations like this.
