Women do create a lot of problems in military life, from early marriages (I remember 17 yo guys with 16 yo wives in basic training back in the 70s, and another case where a wife went on a cock rampage with a bunch of guys in my advanced training company), to overspending (had to counsel a lot of guys later on that they could not afford the mega TV and the full Ethan Allen dining room set).

When you send guys into high-intensity combat and make them roll out the gate everyday to face IEDs and firefights, sometimes killing civilian bystanders, for 12 or 15 months, and then send them back a year later, and again and again, it can have a bad effect.

For a time in the US Army in the early-mid 2000's, if you enlisted, you could get three tours in Iraq or Afghanistan: once when you were sent as a replacement to bring a deploying unit up to strength, second time you were stop-lossed to keep you on the rolls for the unit's next deployment, third time was when you were recalled to active duty from the individual ready reserve to augment another deploying unit. That was because Rumsfeld did not want to expand the size of the force to cover the obligations it had.

I am a bit skeptical about lumping all veteran suicides together - the guy killing himself because of a faithless woman, like the one in the video is not the same as the guy who did three tours in the Iraq war and saw a lot of killing is not the same as the 62 year old Vietnam vet drunk is not the same as the 80 year old Korean vet with inoperable cancer just making his own choice about death.

Missing Marine Wife May Have Been Having Affair With Neighbor

Authorities are investigating the possibility that a missing California woman – the wife of a Marine – was having an affair with her married neighbor and was pregnant with his child, according to a search warrant.

Erin Corwin, 20, has not been seen since June 28, vanishing from the city of Twentynine Palms without a trace. Investigators say her husband, Lance Cpl. Jonathan Corwin, reported her missing one day after she was last seen leaving for Joshua Tree National Park in southeastern California.

Her Toyota Corolla was found not far from the military base where her husband is stationed.
