I was wondering if anyone else here has a condition called Allergic Rhinitis? Apparently, 20% of the world's population is afflicted with the condition.

For me, I've had rhinitis for a year and a half. It first started when I noticed that I was constantly having a runny nose. I also noticed whenever I drank alcohol my ears got really clogged up.

Since then I've seen an ENT twice; the two visits didn't provide me with much relief (including the nasal steroids they gave me).

After my two ENT visits, I decided to try my own routine of supplements. I've recently been using homeopathic supplements Astralagus, Echinacea, Goldenseal, as well as Quercetin.

These supplements have provided me with much needed relief, but I still suffer from clogged ears after drinking alcohol.

From what I've heard the condition is suppose to decline with age because of a reduction in overall IgE levels.

However, I'm still a little concerned that this condition will stick with me for the rest of my life. The condition has been a major nuisance for me, and I can't imagine being a teetotaler the rest of my life.

Have you looked into getting allergy shots? It's the best decision I ever made.

I was about to say the same thing ^ Allergy shots are good if you have extreme allergies to a multitude of different things. It's a commitment, and like any type of medical treatment, you have to pay for it, but for me it worked well.

You have to stick to a regimen (go every week for a couple months, transition into a bi-weekly basis, then once every three weeks, up until a monthly basis of allergy shots). That was how mine worked. Also, the Dr. suggested I get them for five years. Yes, it's a hassle. Yes, it can pay off.

I'd talk to your doctor about the potential payoff, usefulness, commitment, cost, etc.
