that is a guy that makes me believe that voting is not rigged entirely. How could the 'establishment' let him become governor if it was all true. PS, you forgot another one of his accomplishments. It definitely helps that his frame, muscularity, and deep voice all convey a very alpha presence.

kissing ass to the big money oligarchs? It's tough. Ventura did it, but that was a long time ago. Now I don't think it's nearly as doable, but it occasionally
still happens, as Eric Cantor can tell you.

I admire his desire to seek out truth, but sometimes that can be taken a bit far. He's a big "truther" and to each their own but I think its bonkers.

The truther thing did seem bonkers to me too a few years ago.

but when you consider how 9/11 was used to generate hysteria to push the Iraq War (which was sold under lies about WMDs and terrorist connections),
the truther stuff suddenly seems less bizarre. Also, it was bizarre how after Bin Laden was killed a few years ago, nobody would show us his body...... and how the story behind his death kept changing. It was really strange how OBL turned up near a huge Pakistani military academy in Abbotabad.

I'm not saying that proves anything. I don't think the truthers have proven their case, but I think it's definitely an open question. If Ventura raises questions, I think that's
reasonable. At least aspects of the official story seem made up, but it'd be interesting to see how much is truth and how much is fiction.

Anyway, as stated above, I think a lot of his theories are a bit out there, and I don't agree with some of his politics, but he's honest and is trying to look out for everyone instead of a specific constituency.

I salute the man for his integrity and honesty and calling things as he sees it, but he can be pretty "out there" in zone at times. For that reason he's not electable at the national level.

Definitely a stud.

Among the accomplishments you mentioned, he was also an actor, rode with the Mongols for a while (may have even been fully-patched), and had what looked like a small cult following at Harvard while in a fellowship there. Definitely a smart guy that takes no shit from anybody.

A little too smart for his own good, to where he fucks with his own head, in my opinion, but that happens sometimes. He's still done a great deal more in his life than most other men even dream of.

I support Ventura. He has some radical views that certainly brush against the status quo, but hell that's what this country needs - a paradigm shift.

I agree with a lot of his stuff but he is way too pro gun sometimes.

He won't be able to ever get anywhere at the national level, Ron Paul went nowhere and he doesn't say things as "out there" as Ventura.

I liked Jesse until he filed a lawsuit against the family of Chris Kyle. Kyle is a former SEAL sniper that was murdered by a Marine. Maybe he needs the money, but suing the estate of a dead service member rubs me the wrong way. I may be full of shit, but it's my two cents worth. Oh, and SEALs still annoy me.

Suing the wife of a murdered SEAL is bad ju-ju. Ventura claims that Chris Kyle's story in his American Sniper book about their confrontation in a SEAL bar in California isn't true. In the book, Kyle says he was in the bar with the family of a KIA SEAL after the funeral. According to Kyle, Ventura was loudly criticizing Bush, the Iraq War, SEAL tactics, and saying that it was ok for the SEALs to "lose a few." After Kyle told him to shut up, Ventura mouthed-off and Kyle decked him. Kyle didn't mention Ventura's name in the book, but confirmed it was him in later interviews. Kyle was later murdered by an ex-servicemen with mental issues, but Ventura continued to pursue the case against Kyle's widow.

Ventura says none of this happened. The lawsuit court case opened in Minnesota two days ago. Ventura has some SEAL buddies taking his side and saying that the incident didn't happen. It appears that Kyle's wife has the family members who were there who will confirm her late-husband's narrative. I think Ventura has a weak case, but you never know with juries. Regardless, I think Ventura should have let it go.

I don't know, guys. I've had my doubts about this half-baked ranter for a while.

He talks a good game, but at the end of the day, he's just a lot of talk in the bag. Ventura is full of shit. He bailed from the governorship once he realized that being a governor involved more than just talking shit. He has no stomach for hard work. In my opinion, he's a lazy idler.

He can't work with people, has crackpot ideas, and carries an air of charlatanry about himself like Pig Pen's dirt cloud.

Being a good leader is about putting your ideas into action. It's not about telling the world what's wrong with it.

If you're using this guy as your role model, you might want to re-think that. Chest-beating braggadocio is not leadership. But he's what America likes.

Whatever merits Jesse Ventura may once have had (and I'm not sure I can name any), he hasn't aged well. The greasy, stringy hair, the endless rants about conspiracies lurking behind every tree and under every rock, and the shrill alarmist tone make for a telling picture. But his schtick fits in well with the prevailing ethos in America. Everything is the fault of some invisible enemy, rather than the people themselves.

If he doesn't make himself over fast, and turn over a new leaf, he's going to find himself sitting alone in 24-hour cafeterias, saliva dribbling out of the corner of his mouth, and muttering about socialism.

That's hardly an accomplishment, MdWanderer. That's like saying that he's the least doltish in a room full of dolts.

Keep in mind, I have nothing against him personally. I'm sure he's an entertaining fellow and a generally agreeable one.

It's just that I'm tired of self-promoting hucksterism from our public figures. I just want someone who solves problems and gets things done. I don't want to hear about endless conspiracy theories, cover-ups, and the like.

He had his chance to translate talk into action when he held the governorship. And he ran out with his tail between his legs, accomplishing nothing.

And he whined the entire time about how everyone ganged up on him.

When the moment of truth came, the time to pull the trigger, the time for the real gut check, Ventura folded without a fight.

He belongs in the locker room of an old man's gym, telling stories about his imaginary glory as a SEAL, along with all the other buffoons.

Let's grade Ventura on a relative scale.

How much has he profited off his connections? How much political/financial chicanery has he engaged in? Compared to the parasites that infest our political system today, Ventura is practically Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Maybe he's not a problem solver, but I think it's valuable to have someone who will challenge the status quo. Compared to your average political pundit on MSNBC/FOX/Talk-radio who promotes nothing of value, I think Ventura is far more insightful and gutsier. He's probably better as commentator than a leader, but he's one of the few prominent Red Pill takers with some amount of fame.

I don't see Ventura as a future president, but he's still far better than the current crop of clowns and criminals that pass as national leaders in today's USA.

A lot of his conspiracy theorizing is on firmer ground than people realize. At a very minimum, it gets people questioning the current social order - endless wars, oligarchization, etc.

Ventura's case isn't going so well at the moment. Even if the jury/judge, for some reason, takes his side in the decision, this is still making him look a lot worse instead of better. As I said, he should have let this go instead of deciding to sue Kyle's widow.
