I'll keep this short, as you fellows see plenty of text-walls:

I've a year left at a US military-academy. I entered after high-school, having minimal experience with girls(one ltr). Its been a good experience. I've grown and learned quite a bit.

For the sake of perspective, I'll say that I'm a white, tall, fairly attractive guy with an alright brain. I'm working on the cold-approach game thing, but via pre-selection by female friends, I have a high closing-rate. I kind of get the whole woman-thing.

Unfortunately, I met an attractive, highly-intelligent gal towards the end of my freshman year. I didn't think much of her at the time. Turns out after the summer that I'm in the same tiny major as she (Electrical engineering). Also turns out she's the only non-neckbeardy individual in the entire major.

We hit it off. Study-partners, pals, homies, whatever. She had been dating another cadet since freshman year, and I've been maintaining a stream of decent pokes outside of school, so I'm not too concerned.

Fast-forward two years, and we've become incredibly tight friends. Because of the way the academy is structured, we probably spent at least three or four hours together daily. We would hang out on weekends, but usually 'chaperoned' by a mutual friend, or in a bigger group. I never made a move in the meanwhile, as I respected her boyfriend, and even became decent friends with him through her. Furthermore, in an isolated social environment limited to so few people(I attend the smallest military academy, if that's any hint), I didn't want to make waves.

About two weeks before the end of the semester and our being shotgunned across the country for summer training, she broke up with her boyfriend.

Now, I realize I want her(and probably have for a few months) I'm bored with hooking up with gals, and think that having a relationship, at least for the remainder of my time at the academy would be nice.

I maintained radio silence for a month and a half, as regular communication was essentially impossible. Two weeks ago we spoke on the phone for a few hours, and then spent the next week or so texting incessantly. It was mutually enjoyable, full of teasing, qualification, and a little flirting.

I know this girl and i are very close. We're similarly attractive, smart, and of similar backgrounds.

Issue being, I don't know how to proceed in a manner that doesn't seem confessional. We have plans to travel to NYC to go clubbing when school starts again. I know I can't just sit her down and tell her how I feel and expect things to align, as that never works, but by the same token, just getting her drunk and trying to fuck her in NYC seems so crass, considering how long and well we know each other.

tldr; I'm a beta bitch and i don't know what to do about this girl

It seems you have one-itis for this girl aka "love" aka "pedestalization."

If she's the one, sure it could be legitimate; but how many girls have you been with to compare?

If not that many, you may want to reconsider your feelings and get her drunk and bang her instead.

After the bang, you will pedestalize her less and get your priorities straight.

And she'll love you the more for it.

Its funny - the moment I posted that, I realized that had I stumbled across that thread, I would have offered the same advice.

I think the biggest mental barrier between me and the fact that I really have no choice but to game her like anyone else is/was the fact that I've been friends with her platonically for so long(I can assure you all i would have made a move had it not been for the existing claim) that I felt like I was dealing with new territory that needed to be approached differently.

Go out, have fun, and gradually start touching her in a sexual manner. She'll understand what you want. Then get her back home and fuck her. That's what she wants too.

Platonic love my ass - even if she is with a boyfriend I always let a girl know that I would fuck her if she were not with a boyfriend. That clears the atmosphere as far as I am concerned.

Don't be too weird, just make a move. If it works out, fine, if not then be aware of the female hypergamy hamster - she might not be as innocent as you think. If she is, then all the better. Be upfront and stay away from the Beta-Orbiter stratosphere.

An Alpha can be friends with a chick when interest align sufficiently and you are having fun, but that Alpha is like a hawk ready to strike as soon as the mouse is in the open. And the mouse knows about it up-front.

And even if you do feel that taking her out for drinks and banging is crass (it's not), it's an effective strategy. Maybe you should even drop a load on her face for good measure.

Sometimes just writing shit down, no matter the topic, helps you find the answer.
