More gay or low gay dudes. This is a problem because while lowering the competition, they are still fucking girls increasing the chance of HIV and STD. Learnt this from my mom. Like hipsters are being seen as feminine, black dudes wearing baggy leggings (will turn skinny eventually) is just as bad. My sis said there was a straight dude in a crop top at her classmate' s sweet 16. It look like fashion is converting back to the 80s gay wear.
Too many steps to get girls. Facebook, Kik, number, friends, date. Too many hoops. Girls stalk for potential, put you in the Vip list with other dudes, stalk for more info before going on dates. Asking for Kik is safer and cool (like having a Facebook) than a number.
Learn this one as a kid and social media. Girls treat attention like sex. Pretend they don' t want it while serectly wanting it. Another thing I notice as a kid are older women dressing like slutty young girls. Especially in the summer.

^hardly anything you stated applies here in the South besides maybe Kik. I certainly don't see dudes wearing gay shit, and although stalking has increased via social media it is just done for stalking's sake as it's safer. This is coming from a guy who just graduated with a brother still in high school and a another in elementary. Also being gay here is like being friendzoned. Gay guys have a clear preference for guys here. Maybe because we don't tolerate the gay pride crap so they can't be ambiguous.

Very interesting topic for a thread. 10 Years ago I was in college. I always joke college isn't like real life, at least if your in a college town. Its just a cool dynamic when 90% of the town is colege aged kids fucked up, just gives a whole different value system to whats acceptabl and normal and what daily life is like.

My experience of college was that dating just didn't exist. I don't think I ever really heard about a dating couple or people going on a date, it was very much a hookup and party culture.

I would also often joke with friends that game didn't really exist or almost wasn't even needed. There was like this automatic hey were in the same class or hey we go to the same college he must be okay lets fuck. It was really more about just going out, getting fucked up and being present and you got pussy.

I definately think online dating has inflated womens egos. I think almost every women if she hasn't actively done online dating has at least put up a profile for an ego boost and some attention. Because guys are horny, guys will go under their "league" and because it takes 2 seconds to shoot off a form letter even the most plain jane women gets inundated with quality guys even if they have no plans to do anything but fuck them once so it gives women an inflated sense of how hot they are or whatever.

Obviously I think social media has definately changed dating and pickup and all that as well.

There's a lot of similarities but things are magnified much more today.

AOL Instant Messenger was the texting messaging of the early 2000's. I remember being in college and thats how a lot of plans were made and yes there was plenty of gaming to be had on AOL. AOL was actually easier to build comfort and have a conversation since it was more stream line than text messaging(obviously there is still IM today but I don't think people utilized it anywhere near as much as they did 10 years ago). Remember text messaging years ago was a pain in the ass with the phones of the day.

Back 10 years ago you still sometimes ran into girls without cell phones in clubs. It was rare but did happened and was a pain in the ass. I remember a 21 year old Brazilian girl was living with a host family and I had to fucking call her host families house line in order to talk to her.

As others said people didn't stare into their smart phones like they do today. People are just so disconnected today walking around in public with ear buds in and how it's almost universal for someone to check their smartphone if they are standing in line by themselves. I think there must be a physiological discomfort when people are standing alone in public and they play with their phone as a crutch.

I think it's allowed guys to get lazy on game as well. Ive been guilty of it at times. If your naturally more shy or reserved or less likely to approach in public settings or bars online dating, craigslist, etc make it very easy to cleanup without having to challenge yourself to get outside of your comfort zone.

Technology I think has been the biggest change. I'm still a young guy but even 8 or 10 years ago when I was in college I actually had to call girls on their dorm room landlines cellphones still weren't something everyone or broke college kids had where as now days you can be in contact with someone all night long im at this party your at that party come by my place later, etc.

I think social media made a big change. I was at my peak of bars and game and everything back when myspace was just comming out so that really kind of changed social dynamics and stuff.

Social media has also allowed relationsip drama to play out on a stage for your friends and family a not so great thing.

I think technology has made things easier and harder even just something like having cellphones. before someone would have to be home on a landline to call now you can be out at 2am and text other chicks who are out drunk at 2am. its also made things harder in the sense if your with a side chick your girl can get a hold of you 24/7. there's no i went for a walk or went over to my buddies place.

That's more like 25 yrs ago! In 1999, I can't recall a single girl who didn't have a cell-phone. Women in Europe, certainly, all had them - and were texting (called "SMS", for short-messaging service) like mad! Texting took a little longer to catch on here in the U.S., early to mid 2000's.

The biggest difference I've noticed is the decline in the number of marriageable women. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a picnic 15 yrs ago, either! But there were still more "normal" girls than today.

Not sure if your in europe or the US but I went to college from basically like 2000 to 2004 or so and sure some kids parents paid for a cellphone for them but at least at my school cellphones were a rarity. It was only a years or two after that that everyone had a phone but for a broke college kid even in early 2000s not that many had cellphones
