Ian's dad, Steve, was a regular writer on the blog after the accident, along with Larissa. Then on October 8, 2009, Steve met God after a six-week battle with brain cancer.

Steve's birthday is eight twenty eight. Our wedding day is eight twenty eight, made official four years after the accident.

I'd say she's a woman from a good family, there are still pockets of Christians like that. Also the guy was probably pretty alpha and may have taken her virginity before the accident and that can count for a lot in such a conservative woman.

There really are.

Both my sisters are currently making their husbands (who had no real game and in one case, had never even been kissed before) very happy right now.

Hell, my older sister has a glandular disorder and she still manages to keep her weight very reasonably (maybe 10-15 pounds too heavy).

These types of women are rare breeds these days.

From the title I assumed it was after the fact, i.e. She met a man with CP and then got married as that would of been more out of the norm. This is sorta normal. I've seen it in a few times in my old parts growing up that had more traditional and Christian families. It becomes ride or die to a point and the couples and boer families take any situations like these as a way to become stronger and closer which solidifies the bonds even further.

Well raised Christian girl is probably a part of the equation, but I'm not sure he would have kept her if he didn't have some level of Game before the accident. And judging by the photos he did. Look at that don't give a fuck look he has in before accident photo. Even in the after photos he is looking in the camera with a satisfied look (to the best of his abilities), and he is not leaning into her, she is leaning into him. Game recognized.

Almost guarantee she has something on the side.

He is the perfect shill. Most men are completely clueless about their wives extra curricular activity. To have someone that is almost on the level of a pet, just happy to see you come home, he will never question anything, even if she comes home an hour or three late a couple times a week.

Those are the rarest of girls.

And yes - Ian looks pretty much Alpha before his accident, so he certainly left a huge impression in her life. Would have been hard to replace - especially for a good Christian girl. So I guess she chose to make the best out of it and saw it (rightly in my opinion) as a sign of fate. Walking away from that would have been wrong, but of course most women would have done so nowadays. Besides - a child of them will be healthy anyway.

   

I've seen guys in wheelchairs pull super-cute girls just by their personality, but this is on a different level still. I also see how many so-called Christian women actually criticize her decision, because they haven't been married yet:

I disagree. The pedestal of virtue she is put upon is too high for her to cheat vs. her being married to a normal husband. Let me throw out an example:

She has a normal husband cheating rationale: "He's lazy, he's mean, he doesn't do anything nice for me, he didn't remember my birthday, he farts, he watches porn"...with a normal husband his actions can provide fodder for her hamster day after day

She has a disabled husband cheating rationale: "My husband is wholly dependent on me.."

I guarantee that if she were in a cheating situation, with a dick in her hand the image of her brain dead husband staring off into space and drooling would pop into her head and she'd be thrown off, because he doesn't do anything and is dependent on her her maternal instincts will keep her faithful, it would be more like betraying a child than a husband to her.

There are a couple of women at my church who look like this, pretty, naturally happy, smiling and nurturing. I think they are great, and grade A wife material...but for me there is zero boner response, there is no hint of being dirty etc. I think this helps on cheating deterrence as well...a guy like me would prefer the woman sitting towards the back, with too much of a tan, fake tits, and an obviously shallow demeanor if I were to pick a target for cheating. The maternal girl would regret it, the sex would be mild and she'd probably cry afterwards whereas fake tits would want to take pictures and continually text me about how she needs it again.

edit: also, the attention whoring opportunities that his chick gets by stepping into this marriage are extreme. That would be satiating for alot of female egos and she probably knows that the spotlight would not be on her if she was with a normal guy.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here.

I think she may be using him as an emotional tampon. Sexually, she gets off with other men. But her former husband may be nothing more than a pet, similar to the way women use cats as emotional bonding devices.

He's got brain damage. He's not even the same person anymore. She could be using cocaine every day, fucking guys with AIDS, and the only thing he'll do is go "Uhmmmhhhh." No matter what, he is the judgement free zone.

Additionally, by taking care of this guy, she gets tons of social validation and attention-whoring to the max. No one will ever suspect her of wrongdoing or ill-will. She could be dealing drugs to middle-school kids but because she's got a brain-damaged husband, people will always defend her.

Now, I'm not saying she is in fact this way. But the potential for abuse here is enormous.

Think about it guys. Will she ever have kids? Probably not. She has to take care of her husband. Thus she now has a legitimate excuse to never have kids, freeing up her time to do "other" activities. She will focus on her career, visit her husband a few times per day, and have a free pass to do anything else she pleases.

While I would love to believe this is a good news story, something isn't right about a woman who chooses to stay with a man incapable of ever providing for her or her future children. This isn't normal behavior from a healthy woman. Indeed, this is behavior of a sick woman.

I think this story is a tragedy all-around. She didn't choose for the love of her life to get crushed in a car accident. But if she was serious about the future she would find a new man, as sad as it is for her old love.

You are right that its also possible. I have seem some used up white trash women pushing disabled adults around the park, ignoring them, telling to shut up while smoking a cigarette and talking on the phone to someone a the same time.

That may happen if there isn't outside financial backing for their lives, I don't think that will happen though as these two will be under the umbrella of their church until at least the husband is dead. Front and center pew, their story told 1000 times, at every church function. If she has running this ordeal on her own or with just family support and no money, yeah I think she wold become bitter fast and would resort to a classic modern woman's escape.

its not the morals, its the community and peer indoctrination. You could take really fortified church membership systems like the southern baptists have and remove the bible and insert marvel comics and you would have an effective way of making people's lives all about spider man, captain america and the hulk.

Steal their system and in one generation you could build a small 'church of the socratic method' easily.
