This 4m video is just jammed with hamsterism and sanctimonious Western PC cultural imperialism.

China actually gets it. They know women need to stop being picky and focusing solely on their careers and get married in their early 20s. The government officially calls these 30+ career women "leftover women". The Western reporters(including the men here) are just mortified. Then they interview some vocal fry Chinese American woman that goes to China to teach women not to marry until AFTER 30 and focus on their careers. It's just disgusting to watch the West try to shove its mores down the throats of every one else as if we know better than nature.

No one is telling women not to achieve. But women think that their status means something to men. It doesn't. Men care about what women do for them.

China has a huge surplus of men due to the tradition of favoring boys so Chinese women do get to be more choosey in the dating market. As for Asian countries with a balanced male:female ratio, holding out on marriage until 30 is a terrible idea for women.

Unfortunately, the west is influencing all the other countries in the world making them more feminist day by day. But the good news is, western countries are collapsing, and I predict that in 10 years the west will be proof to the entire world that extreme individualism, extreme liberal values and feminism lead to disaster.

I would argue the CCP is not doing enough to combat its male surplus issue. Yes, discouraging "leftover women" is a good start, but that's merely getting their women to reach "full marriage production limit" (i made that up - think of that as the full employment production limit from economics). But even if there were no leftover women and every woman got married, there would still be a surplus of men who are marriageless (not to mention the defacto polygamy that China's super rich male minority engage in through mistresses #yesallchinesemencheat). China needs to do the following things if it doesn't want to encounter more and more civil disorder in the near future:

1) legalize porn. Make it the soma for the beta males, brave new world style.

2) legalize prostitution, especially at the lower end.

3) make it super super easy for men to import brides from neighboring countries. Chinese men already do this by going to Vietnam because their purchasing power is much greater. But perhaps the CCP can provide a small subsidy.

This is not to mention that the gender issue dovetails with their shrinking labor force and greying population.

I know porn is illegal in many places in asia and sometimes the more mainstream sites are blocked, but I can't believe any male would not look at porn. I have to think that chinese guys know how to look at internet porn more and don't fear any retribution for it.

Also, I've never been to China, but my understanding is that the culture and corruption basically make prostitution less risky and more culturally acceptable there as well, similar to much of the rest of asia.

Encouraging marriage and childbearing is a culturally difficult thing to do. Japan needs to do it as well to have a chance of their culture not collapsing. Opening visas for foreign marriage is probably the best bet these countries have. I think all countries should make it easier to import girlfriends and wives as a way to encourage marriage and procreation both of which are positive for the culture and economy.

I've written about China before, but I've always been fascinated by the dysfunctional dynamics at play in Chinese society. So interesting.

1) confucian social pressures that favor family, modesty, chasteness, and virginity

2) an underlying sexual revolution brought about by western society

3) communist/confucian led "feminism." This is the thing about Chinese society that is different from the west. China had "feminism" before modern western feminism creeped in. By that, I mean the relatively gender-egalitarian principle that all children in society are encouraged to get an education, achieve, and hold white collar jobs. This was true even before Deng and market reforms.

4) modern western style feminism: you can find true love, you are special, you are entitled to your knight in shining armor, AND you can have a career.

One thing the video mentioned is actually kind of correct: you can't blame some Chinese women for their current situation, because many legitimately followed the advice of their parents, teachers, and authorities in doing well in school, getting a post-graduate degree, and getting a white collar job. It's quite reasonable that by the time all this is done, a woman is 25-27. Unless you married your college bf, or unless you are are super hot and have your selection of suitors, there is a very good chance you end up single at that age. Another thing is Chinese women are pricing themselves out of the market because a lot of men cannot compete. But again, not really their fault if all they have been doing is following orders from above.

Note: that woman interviewed in that video can't get a date because she's barely above a 5 by Chinese standards. Not because she's "intimidating." The men she wants, given her socioeconomic status, are men who can afford to be courting 7+ girls.

Keep in mind that i said "court." Who is banging whom is much more muddled, but in the marriage market, the name of the game is beta provider hypergamy. The more money you have, the more marriage options you have as a man.

Prostitution is indeed accepted and the authorities usually look the other way. But when the raids happen, it's usually the lower end that gets hit. The high end places can afford better bribes, and they in turn have richer clientele. These richer clientele are obviously not lacking in marital options (most are married).

Or China could pick constant fights with all of its neighbors, creating a national "rally around the flag effect," which does two things, one, it dampens grievances against the state, and two, if one of the cold wars becomes hot, well, a war is a way to get rid of surplus men.

Chinese society's dating/ courting market must have the same gender ratio as dating sites with the associated boom in female entitlement and expectations. Perhaps the government's one child policy has sown the seeds of an even more toxic crop of women than American crones!

Kinda the same with women, isn't it. THat sounds counter-intuitive, but its not: Women DO care about men's status...but SOLEY because of what it can do for them... provide for them and their kids. Men also care about what women can do for them...but since men's desires for women revolve around the physical (sex, fertility) and to some degree the emotional (being a loving, supportive GF or wife)...well, status doesn't advance those goals, it gets in the way!

The end of the report did hint what 'being picky' is code for: women who've got their own money tend to become even more hypergamous and intolerant of men at their socio-economic levels and below.

That's possibly because some girls are aborted because the parents want a boy. Abortion has killed more girls than boys, but the feminists will never talk about that one.

As usual, the idea of a Strong Independent Woman ™ is depicted here as something intimidating or fearful to men.

Men aren't 'afraid' of a high status woman any more than they're afraid of finding a Phillips head screwdriver in a sea of flat head screws.

True, but it isn't mores that has led China to where it is.

It's the reality (which has always been the reality) that China doesn't have the cash to offer a sufficient welfare system to provide a good standard of living to women who decide to raise families on their own.

The desirable guys, the ones who have money, can have a woman at any age. So, while there is demand for women of all ages, a woman who is 30+ isn't interested in most of that demand, because it comes from relatively poor guys. But since the few guys who fit the provider category well enough are marrying 24 year olds, there is no hope for the 30+ crowd.

In the west, we offset the cost of women's bad decisions by forcing companies to hire them and by providing a male-female wealth-transfer welfare system. However, China simply can't afford to do this for 300 million women.

So, the decision to encourage women to recognize the fact that they NEED to depend on a man for financial support if they ever plan to have kids, is simply a matter of living in reality.


I will now duck for cover while idiots respond with, "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, China has lots of money!"

I love that graphic. The 60-70 year old is spot on for Osaka - the place is so full of these gnarly-handed, superannuated women that even the Japanese joke about it. They will shove you out of the way to get to the discount pickled cucumber at the supermarket, and they travel in pairs and trios, trombone-like voices causing the more alert salarymen to skitter out of the way well in advance.

I'm not surprised to see asian-american women leading this charge. They are some of the most hypergamous and self righteous women you will ever meet with a narrow minded focus on social/class status above all else.

Asian-american women are in a lot of ways trojan horses. They aren't actually better than white american women in attitudes or socialization because they are also raised in American culture. However, they occupy a weird proxy space because they are insecure and pretty subservient of white men and they replaced the more bitchy demanding white women by default of being easier to access. This means they seem like a better option in the short term but the true nature usually comes out later in life.

It doesn't matter what race you are but if you have a thing for asians it's probably a better option to go full asian (racially and culturally) with a foreign wife. There's just less emotional and social baggage attached to the package. Asian-american women are good for a pump and dump though but I guess that goes for all American girls.
