Quote:Militant atheists are always saying: "Religion is just a tool to control the masses." No shit!!
Well if religion is just a tool to control the masses, then what is spirituality? Is spirituality a tool that can free an individual? Free him of his conditioning, brainwashing, and lead him to a higher path of freedom?

RE: Can A RoosVforum member be Religious?
Redpill taken with food for thought:
Atheism by itself is the rejection or lack of belief in supernatural, divine, metaphysical deities, or guiding dogma as a philosophy to live your life by.
The moment someone believing an atheist philosophy attempts to convince others that by following any religion makes an individual incapable of acquiring logic and reason, that person is immediately no longer an atheist. They become an evangelists of a dogma themselves, preaching for conversion of their own, ironically fallacious, philosophy.
Until the existence of gods or any supernatural entities can be proven or disproven by science, the debate remains solidly open as to who is more correct, logical, reasonable etc. A few of my atheist, agnostic and catholic intellectual friends talked about this one day and came to this conclusion.
There is no such thing as a real militant atheist.

Ignoring that religious means a lot of different things to different people, it depends on what red pill means to you exactly. You can be red pill without even being a player, in my opinion. I see "red pill" (a term I'm not 100% fond of, even if it's apt) as being able to look through what you've been taught about gender by our society and seeing some fucked up dynamics for what they really are.
I don't see why you can't recognize those truths without fully buying into the full-blown player lifestyle, which would indeed go against most religious dogmas. I think it's perfectly possible to call society out on its messed up priorities, and be a stronger more together man, yet still live a disciplined life and hold yourself and the women you associate with to a certain standard.
A better question might be whether you can be an active RVFer and religious at the same time, and therein lies a real challenge. Associating with the crowd here makes it very difficult to not pick up their habits and lifestyle.
I don't consider myself a follower in the least, but being so involved here has definitely affected my morals, behavior, direction, and actions in life - and not always in a way that I'm comfortable with. Simply because who you associate with strongly affects who you are, and we're associating with each other quite a bit around here, even if it's not in person.
"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Rudyard Kipling

I cant speak for Christianity, but in the Hebrew Bible, prostitution is tolerated (Gen 38, Deut 23.19). There is no direct prohibition, however fathers are supposed to ensure their daughters do not become prostitutes (Lev 19.29). Only the priestly class was prohibited from marrying whores (Lev 21.7). Premarital sex is tolerated, but blamed on the male, who is to be punished for spoiling a virgin (Deut 22.28-29). A number of favored figures, such as King David, were infamous womanizers.
It sets out the way the world should be, but also accepts that reality isnt quite like ideals. It has been said here or on RoK that the Hebrew Bible can be read like a red pill manual.

Modern women basically are prostitutes. Nice girls, virgin girls, do not hang out at bars or clubs. So the women getting pumped and dumped have no one to blame but themselves. They are choosing to put themselves in environments where men will use them like whores. They could also choose to not be whores in the first place, to be a nice virginal girl, but such women don't really exist in the West anymore.
As for the question of "sin", let's look at eastern religions. In Buddhism and Hinduism, there is no concept of "sin". There is the concept of karma. Also, sex is not considered as some great evil or sin. It's considered a natural function of the body.
The whole idea in Hinduism and Buddhism is to transcend the lower three chakras, which are concerned with survival, sex, and food (greed), and bring our body's energy to the higher chakras where we can begin to experience a spiritual life. Whereas in the western religions, the idea is that if we don't avoid sex, over-eating, and other "sins", we'll burn in hell forever.
Western religion teaches that you have to wait until you die to attain your spiritual rewards. Whereas eastern religion gives a process (yoga, which literally means 'union with god') by which you can attain a spiritual existence in this very life, right now.

RE: Can A RoosVforum member be Religious?
I would be considered very religious by a lot of people. Church every Sunday, every week.
However, I wouldn't say that I'm religious in the current sense of the word.
Rather, I live by a code.
I work hard to not be motivated by selfish desire.
I work hard to leave everyone better than I found them.
I won't do more sexually with a woman than she's done before.
I don't do anything that is going to hurt them.
My conscience is clear.
I might go into the exact details of my philosophy on a day that follows a night when I got more than three hours of sleep.
"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.
Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector."

Daddy issues. See Leviticus 19.29 like I said. Now, I personally dont think the Bible/Torah is meant for everyone. Some things are universal, some are specific. But that doesnt change really good points like this about how much role a father needs to play in the life of his growing children.

Sin doesnt exist in Judaism. Its more of a Christian concept. There is a purity/impurity thing, but that seems to derive more from cleanliness than sex = bad. Otherwise, it would conflict with the exhortation "Be fruitful and multiply". Sex is important in Judaism, but the problems it can cause are recognized and regulated.

Actually, there are surprising similarities between eastern religions and western religions. The lower chakras and "sin" are really just basal human instincts. Most Christians foolishly miss the point of what sin really is. When you roll around in your more basal instincts, you begin to feel spiritually dead inside in a similar manner of being "stuck" in the lower chakras of eastern religion.
Christianity speaks of "death" and "burning in hell" as an allegory for spiritual death which you can see in the eyes of many western women (and men) who use sex, work, and money as a way to fill a void. I know because I used to feel that pit and void and attempted to fill it with pointless things.
Hinduism effectively teaches a similar thing. The other minor god's that Hinduism has can also be equated with Catholicism and praying to the saints. I won't lie, I've certainly prayed to St. Paul before. It's important to understand that you're not worshipping St. Paul as the creator of the universe but a specific part of a larger entity that is in union with the creator.
I can't speak on behalf of the other faiths, but Christianity has a built in mechanism that draws people to the faith if they've truly seen the light and follow the holy spirit. There's no need to cajole or force people to the faith because they should be so moved by your own conviction that they are drawn to it themselves.
