Long story short, I may have to move down to Louisville, Kentucky shortly for a job opportunity.

ANy guys on here from the area that can give me specifics on the city? Is it possible to get around the city without a car? Affordability etc? The good thing is Ive spent some time in Lexington before so Im somewhat familiar with Kentuckian culture.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, guys.

Louisville is kinda spread around, your two night gaming options are 4th Street Downtown and Bardstown road with lots of bars , restauraunts etc.

You would definitely need a car when in Louisville, public transportation is slow almost non-existent and you would end up spending too much money on cabs unless you live down town.

Little late but if here next spring, Derby and thunder over Louisville are two must see events and also good for gaming in louisville.

Do make a weekend plan to visit Nashville 2.5- 3 hr drive from Louisville.

Had to spend a weekend for a convention there. Limited analysis is downtown appeared very tacky/touristy whereas Bardstown Road came off as more unique & happening.

The environment almost feels like a mixture of midwest griminess meets "the deep south."

Most def! Yeah had a gal from the past who was from Lexington...she referred to it as more "100% deep south" on the contrary.

Went here a few weeks ago. We stayed right next door to 4th Street Live and found that to be a pretty happening spot at night. Met 2-3 decent+ girls each night I was out, and my buddys (with game) fared about the same. Didn't make it to Bardstown Rd, but thats on the docket for our next trip.

Side note: lots of girls on Tinder in this area, and school was OUT when we went. Had a hookup within hours of arriving, and passed on a couple more because it would have impacted plans with the guys I was traveling with. Going during the school year should be even easier.
