I'm pretty convinced that the People You May Know algorithm is linked to people viewing your profile. I'm a University student living in University halls and I've noticed a trend where every time I bang a girl from another flat they or their friends would show up in 'People You May Know'.

What fully convinced me was this one girl who told me she tells her mother everything. Slept with her (without her mother, unfortunately), and next thing you know her mother comes up in People You May Know.

If it's true it's a nice way to see what girls view your profile and therefore the potential bangs.

Anyone else experienced anything similar?

You are probably right. One of the women I am trying to fuck is working for facebook, I can ask her the next time i see her. Hell, I could text her, but i haven't met up with her yet and don't want to text her about work.

I killed my Facebook account years ago, but in the old days, the "people you may know" were often people from your list of email contacts, usually exported from GMail in CSV format, who were not on Facebook when you uploaded the CSV file to Facebook and who had joined Facebook in the meantime.

You're completely right. Similar things have happened to me in regards to people you may know. A couple of times I would view a cute girls profile with whom I didn't have mutual friends/only a few and she ended up adding me. I'm convinced Facebook works that way, kinda cool.

It is also linked to your contacts in your phone is you look on a mobile device. My friends and I, back when we'd have our black-out days at the bar, would play a dangerous game called "what quality of girl did you approach last night" and creep the profiles. It ended horribly sometimes.

Could you find out for us? I'm actually curious how it works because it pulled people I knew from 1st grade without having any mutual connections. I never granted facebook the option of using my email or gave it the name of my first grade school. . Only the contacts list on my phone.

Probably doing some Kevin Bacon 7 degrees seperation stuff.

^ I was supposed to meet her thrusday but she cancelled, so I asked her out for today but never heard back. I will try again next week, but idk, she lives like a block from me, so it should be easy to meet up with her, but if she isn't responding it may be dead.

I am not going to call her or text her about facebook shit before I actually get her on a date. Once that happens, I will be fine, but I do not want to bore the pussy by talking about her job.

I can confirm this. A girl I fucked off of okcupid 'magically' appeared on my People You May Know list. I sure as fuck didn't look her up from my account and I just moved to a new town so all my facebook friends weren't close to her either.

Update: met a girl who's up meeting a friend here and lives about 80 miles from here. She was drinking and pretty much begged me to go out to the club with her and some friends, I couldn't due to having to be up early in the morning (if not I would have banged 100%).

She gets back home and look who's #1 on my People You May Know now.

Facebook is more useful than I thought.
