I found many parallels between Polish and Irish history.

Two countries that suffered innumerable national tragedies and crises, in part inflicted by more powerful neighbours, in part self-inflicted.

To claim Poland has no culture is absurd.

The nationalistic attitude
I hate when people can't look at their country subjectively.
"Poland is the best country there is"
My standard reply to these phrases I hear all to often is "Yeah you don't even own a passport do you?"

But you can't even point out some black and white fact.
Roads are shit
Wages are fucking shit
Its always grey
There is a bad smell everywhere you go

You will always be met with stiff resistance and you will be told how Poland is the best country in the world.

Then when you try to eat. They think every fucking food originated in Poland!!
Boiled potatoes? "Oh yeah that's a polish dish"
Schnitzel or Pork Knuckle "Oh yeah that's a polish"
Any form of soup "Oh yeah that's a polish dish"

I swear to god, I have been told that Bruschetta is a polish dish!

Anyway, I will finish this up by saying that I know I am coming of really ignorant right now.
But I am sure there is a lot that other people would like to add to the list.

The beggars and the bad stinking smell of many of the large college polish cities are the worst things in my opinion.

Also now polish women with tattoos, fat polish women and pierced polish girls are getting more and more common, maybe around 30% - 40% of the population is fat and has tattoos and piercings.

The north of the country is the worst.

There is still hope around Krakow though

Which cities have the most attractive women in Poland?

Do other well known for women cities such as Kiev, Belgrde, Riga, Budapest, Helsinki outshine Poland as far as the beauty of their women?

Surfnow...I am getting the distinct feeling you are a Poland hater?...just don't go there if you are not happy with the women...no point making yourself miserable over it...life is too short..(there are many men on here who are very happy with the standard of Polish women but perhaps the women in your home country are far superior?)

After getting back our freedome there were some real epic frauds happening due to change of political state. It's fucking miracle that there is any kind of infrastructure or jobs now along with the abundance of food, entertainment and goods in malls. I talked to old man lately about politics and history and he told this one sentence that really stood out, he said "but... it's only Poland you know". It's true. But on the other hand the progress in past 20 years has been enormous. I can get from Warsaw to Gdansk in just 3 hours driving my own car on a new freeway. I know you're laughing like it's nothing to you but my grandma in her youth has never even dreamed of sitting in a car. So honestly, fuck you and your complaints you spoiled brats.

Politically, Poland nowadays is like a little shy chode in high school class who's trying hard to fit in and dying be accepted by the cool kids. Instead of cultivating our strenghts and fighting to be someone, even totally unpredictable wild cards [like Iran or North Korea] and thriving to be feared but respected, we just keep playing by others' rules trying to sell ourselves to them in hopes of being adopted like hopeless orphans but in the end our weak sheep mentality results in us getting fucked hard in the ass, no lube, every year by pack of big bad wolves.

Fair enough, but I never understood how you guys have the same land size as the Germans, about half of their population, same climate and everything, yet Germany is the 3rd or 4th economic power and you guys are basically at a 3rd world level... Im not comparing with the Communist period or the Middle Ages but let's say a century ago the situation was already pretty much the same...

I've got nothing against Poles but seriously I have always had wondered why is it like this. Anyway, let us all do our best in this lifetime.

Germany robbed half of Europe during the war that's why they are the most powerful country in Europe.
I guess you haven't heard how Germans with its allies devastated this country without paying any compensations...

Poland made one serious historical mistake. It aligned itself with the Catholic Church in Rome while its people were Slavic. The rest of Eastern Europe aligned itself with Orthordox Christianity to curry favour with Constantinople.

This led Poland to be a perennial cultural outsider. It was rejected by the West for being Slavic and rejected by the East for being Roman Catholic. It found itself through no fault of its own sandwiched geographically between Imperial Germany and the Russian Empire, the two most formidable land powers in Europe from the late 19th Century onwards. As a low-lying country with little natural defences (unlike say alpine Switzerland), it was ripe for invasion and subjugation from both East and West.
