Found this little gem while browsing another forum. It describes very neatly what marriage really is at least in the Anglosphere with a western woman.

This should be not only required watching for boys in high school but also shared and passed around. If this can save a guy, then it will have served its purpose.

I agree, and always test older guys by saying "thank God I'm not married." Most of them tend to agree.

And in general... I don't see any advantages in getting married except for immigration/citizenship purposes. Does anyone else? The old idiom is so true: "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?"

This, I think, is a mental trap that both red-pill and blue-pill men fall into.

A red-pill man hears about a guy who gets cheated on and says, "He got cheated on because he wasn't Alpha enough. Had he done <insert-alpha-behavior> she wouldn't have strayed."

Both lines of reasoning let the woman off the hook, because they assume women only react to men's behavior and have no agency of their own. Both lines of reasoning also let men dupe themselves into believing that divorce/infidelity/etc. won't happen to them, because unlike other men they won't make these same mistakes.

It's where one of men's greatest assets (their self-confidence that they can do a better job than the men that came before them) becomes a blind spot.

I usually don't pay much attention to MGTOW stuff because they can be so morose in general, but this was heavy-hitting. I'm tempted to send this to some married guys I know and see what they think.

Yep. Count me as one of those guys that always tries to link my own behavior to that of the woman. It's dumb to make that assumption and increasingly difficult to make that connection in the case that there is one.

Gives me the shivers.

A former coworker got married over the weekend, they've been together 7 years.

TL; DR They've been on and off, one his good friends slept with the with his lady. The guys are still friends and he's marrying the stupid broad.

I even brought up to my friends why the fuck were they getting married. They all shook their heads and didn't have an answer.

I feel sorry for him really.

This country, along with many other's, incentivizes divorce for women and single motherhood. If the laws didn't do this, then I think women would act very differently and hopefully men would too.

Colombia, from what I understand, doesn't have child support and divorce laws that screw the Father, hence the women are more "loving" and "dutiful" wives, etc.

That's my economic take on it anyways.
