Central america question - where to rent for the summer.
Looking to rent a place for the summer in central america for 2 or 3 months. Dont want to travel this summer - just work on my laptop in a nice place.

Just got into San Jose, Costa Rica and already decided against renting a place in San Jose because

a) City is pretty ugly

b) A lot of things like food are roughly the same price as in London, England which is ridiculous for a central american country

c) Not impressed by the local women so far looks wise

d) There is really nothing to see or do in the city except play poker at the casinos. Thankfully the games seem quite easy. already paid for my first weeks accommodation just by playing 2 sessions of one dollar-one dollar texas NL. Made a bunch of money off a retired pro american football player yesterday.

So I am either looking for a place elsewhere in Costa Rica that is cheaper and nicer or a place in one of the other countries in Central America.

I have never been anywhere else in central america so I can't contrast and compare. I heard that Panama is safe and clean but quite business oriented and boring.

So what I am looking for is either a second city / college town type vibe with decent night-life or a really cool beach town to chill for the summer.

Either way

1) Quality of the women
2) Quality / prettiness of the city and
3) Price of rent and living expenses

...are the three main factors. Needs to be a safe place that you can walk around at night obviously.

Any ideas?

Have you looked into Managua? I have never been but I am sorta seeing a girl from there and she always tell me I need to visit.
Upon some research I see it has many universities, cheaper than Mexico, and is very close to other cities. I believe 20Nation did a extensive datasheet on the city.

Have heard mixed things. Some people have said its a total dump but I have never been so I dont know. Will maybe check it out in a few weeks after travelling Costa Rica.

Considered Mexico? Guadalajara is nice, cheap and have beautiful women. Maybe Playa Del Carmen is up your alley also. In CA, I hear decent things about Boca Raton. More international women than locals. Personally east coast Panama or East coast Costa Rica would be my spot.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm looking to head out in June to Lima if nothing else really stands out an catches my attention. I'm just kind of second guessing it cause its winter time in Lima then. I like sun, swimming, beaches, and bitches. The purpose of my trip is to learn Spanish , Salsa dancing, and bang some birds while I am at it.

This thread is about central america. Mexico is in north america.

That plus I just left Guadalajara after living there for 6 months (my visa ran out).

Why do you think that E.Coast Costa Rica would be a good spot? I am on W.Coast of Costa Rica right now but have not been to the E.Coast yet.

There is a real lack of coverage on Central America here.

What you said about San Jose is very true. I spent a week there about 8 years ago. Its not an inspiring place at all...boring, confusing, ugly girls, and hectic...and tons of stray fucking dogs. Not a place to work.

Si senor Roberts. However this thread is still relevant to my interest cause if someone mentions a great place in Central America and others chime in and say its the place to be I will go there. Lima is where I will go if nothing else catches my attention. I have no set destination I can go where ever seems clever.

Go to Guatemala city.

We were meant for far more than to suffer in our self created prisons only to die alone. It doesn't have to be that way. It never did.
