60% of what I listen to is 80s (rest either rat pack or classical).

I had never heard 'Africa' by Toto before.

And then one day - I was really hungover - walking through Manchester listening to the radio on my headphones. The reception was really clear that day.

And the next thing I know - a really amazing song starts blasting away in my ears. I tried to remember the chorus so I could find it later on Google.

Anyway - the song was 'Anything' by JoJo. She is a teen/tween pop princess in the Britney Spears mode - but less rauchy.

The reason I mention it is that the song is built around a sample of 'Africa' by Toto. I must have really simple tastes - because I really love this piece of tween poptastic fluff.





Anyway - as with a lot of music I like. It only sounds really good if you get a clear version which is really loud and pops out of your speakers. Which is what came through my headphones in Manchester when I first heard it.

Fear Factory did a remake of "Cars" that is almost indistinguishable from the original. Edit-Just listened to original for first time in years. FF's version MUCH better.

Sheena Easton video dump time. I found out about her on the Bangles Wall thread. I think she is hotter at the time although has not aged well. But I do enjoy her music.





She is the only singer to show up in the bond intro For Your Eye Only. She looks like a Bond Girl I think. Only for yaaaaaaou!





She does this dance in every video. But she seems more innocent here.

Trent was the ALPHA of our city before he made it big. haha, he pretty much was. Watching their early shows and seeing them blow up was pretty awesome.








This sophistipop video freaked me out as a kid, but its one of the greatest songs and videos ever made.




I made my parents watch this the night it premiered on MTV. Video premieres used to be a big deal, too bad they are gone.
