Thought I'd through this out here since I know there are some guys who have some form of LTR or might be considering one.

To clarify what is meant by Alpha and Beta in these pictures:

This chart confuses me

I think calling the second quadrant for men "beta" is a bit off putting. It doesn't exactly align with what a beta would do. Everything in that second column is something that makes a good husband, and the first half is what makes a good player.

While a bit confusing in the labeling, good observations

He expands the definitions of beta way too much for my tastes.

I would say that bringing home the bacon isn't beta, nor is it alpha. It just is. It's necessary to pay for the bills. It won't attract a woman (or a very pretty one) just because you have money, but without it you're fucked.

Same goes for fixing shit around the house. It might not turn on any women if you fix stuff, but it sure is nice to have a functioning home.

And being faithful is only beta if she abuses you and you still are faithful in return. Faithfulness can be alpha providing she knows if she cheats, or makes you unhappy, you'll be in another pussy before she can turn around.

Remember, alphaness is ACCESS to another woman. If a hot man like George Clooney doesn't cash in on his value, it doesn't make him less alpha.

There is some truth behind the chart, because in long term relationships both alpha and beta characteristics are benefitting. To keep a girl around, there has to be some glimpses of beta-tude, coupled with alpha displays and leadership.

Personally, I would refer to the "Beta" column in this chart more as submissive than beta, these traits are desired in both sexes.
