Humm..I've been wanting to bang a gothic chic for a while now, especially the vampire looking ones. I checked this place out on yelp, and most reviews were pretty negative. The Masquerade was always fun when I was there. My cousin has a punk band that plays there, so that is always fun! Also saw Robert Palmer there in concert. Always had a good time there!

I lived in Atlanta from 1997 through 2002 straight and then off and on until today. I do believe there is no better city for a single black man than Atlanta, but I'd like to hear from some of the white guys out there, what are your opinions of ATL. I lived here after the Olympics and the city was a boom city and attracting people from all over the country. In fact, the number one question to ask someone you just met was "how long have you lived here?" And if you had lived here longer than 6 months you were an old timer. The city was super friendly then and you could meet tons of girls who were just starting their life in a new city and ready to have fun. But by about 2005, I felt ATL wasn't growing as well and there weren't many new people here and the scene for "white" guys had slowed way down. Not to mention Music Midtown, On the Bricks, and other music festivals had been discontinued. In the early 2000s there were a zillion socials, at least one singles party every night of the week and some nights many. These really disappeared by 2005 also.

Then the real estate boom and bust ruined Buckhead totally and Midtown somewhat. For those of you who don’t know, Buckhead was similar to Bourbon Street in New Orleans at one time: a great bar district with 30 bars that stayed open until 4AM. All the bars and restaurants were leveled in Buckhead to build high rise condos. But when the real estate bust occurred, they never built the condos, so all you have is blocks of fenced off wasteland! Midtown was decimated too. I’m sure you could find a condo cheap because they built a zillion of them.

I think ATL is a shadow of its former self! To me ATL is just a lot of the same old thing they had 10 years ago, but just more spread out away from the original locations. ATL is now less fun than when it was a booming, more vibrant, and more friendly city!

ATL can be a pain in the ass if you don't live inside the perimeter since the areas are alot more spread out. I know, I've lived here for the past 15+ years. Key and more urbane places to live/stay where you don't have to go to far to find the action include neighborhoods like:

Midtown
Downtown Decatur
Virginia Highlands
Old Forth Ward
Inman Park
Midtown
Buckhead
Marietta Street (near Centennial Park)
Little Five Points

Noticing that downtown Decatur is becoming really hip. I've done two daytime approaches in the the 7 days and yielded one number close. There are a lot of cafes to sit around and survey and you get a handful of 7+ walking around aimlessly during the afternoon hours.

I was born in Atlanta and spent over 20 of my 33 years there. I was born into the hippie scene and therefore have been automatically connected to some degree. I will admit that I have not been good at game in the past. And I have not done an extraordinary amount of work to be social.

I can see how Atlanta could be a gold mine for someone with above average looks or game. I am a skinny white dude, we are not the trophy in this town. There are definitely plenty of attractive ladies and some dimes, but fatties too. There can be a focus on money / status. But there are down to earth chicks as well. I more prefer a place like Austin where money is not as important. I have plenty of friends that have a hard time getting laid in Atlanta. But then again, their looks and/or game are lacking. Someone with game and looks should do okay. Black men twice as much, especially if you can conversate well and have a little money/career.

Just got tired of going into a bar and seeing women dressed like they just got off work and looking the other way because I am not built like ARNOLD or in italian clothes.

I do agree with some of the posters that the suburbs and small towns are full of horny chicks. I went to an adult bible school / singles discussion group one time in some northern suburban church. Afterwards we went to some apartment and the girls got super drunk and horny.

The issue is that the suburbs are so spread out. Atlanta is the most spread out metro area in the world (by population density and miles driven per person).

Also Athens , GA (college town) is known as a party town. Downtown Athens has meat market bars.

I am not so up to date with the best places to go. But Star Bar in Little Five Points was having FREE beer tuesdays every week. That place is a bit of a meat market. Has college girls too. Also the poncey highland area has quite a few hidden little venues loaded with hipster girls. Ask around I can't remember all the names but they are in basements. One is in the basement of El Azteca on Ponce De Leon Ave. The other is in the basement of a hotel near Buddy's gas station at highland and north ave. Clairmont lounge (on ponce de leon ave) is a strip club frequented by college chicks (the place is a big joke). It used to be the only strip club/hotel combination in Atlanta until the hotel closed a few years back.

The graveyard and east side lounge in East Atlanta are kind of meat markets. Moe's and Joe's in virginia highland is okay on the weekends. That whole strip in virginia highland is one big meat market, its about half a mile long (with two main sections). Check out the Edgewood avenue area its up and coming and has a lot of georgia state students. Last time I was there I went into a classy bar full of hot mature chicks, some were mixed latin I think. Buckhead probably has the most consistent meat market. Driving north on peachtree road, turn left on Roswell road. The next mile is full of popular bars packed with hotties.

I give Atlanta a 6.5 from the perspective of a skinny white male. If I was into black women a lot I would probably give it a 7.5 or 8.

Hey guys,

I'll soon be spending a few days in Atlanta and would like to get an update on the hottest night spots right now. I'm staying in Midtown and would like to focus on that area to keep my logistics tight (plus it seems like that's the best area to go anyway).

1) What's the best place to go out in Midtown on Thursdays? Fridays? Saturdays?

2) Is the W Midtown still a popular place to hang out?

I generally prefer lounge/club type places over bars, but am open to all suggestions.

Im just starting to explore midtown more after about a year of mostly buckhead (bleh..I live in bh so it's just been more convenient). So Opera on thurs is hiphop night but I've only been on weekends and Wednesday (college night). Vanquish is pretty cool, lots of Asians. Crescent street also has numerous other spots.

When are you in town? We could try to meet up if you want and hit some spots. Send me a pm if you want.

OK... I am now trying to get some intel. So, being that I dont have a wing or DD, may plan is to find a spot to daygame and drink. I am looking for a place that, has enough traffic that I could spend an hour or two and have a targets, in the local vicinity walking. Maybe some sort of mall, or an area that because the club district at night. Any input. This freaking place is even hard to find a Liquor store. WTF.
You have to have your intel solid. None this winging it stuff I usually do. You will literally drive around in circles and not see a dang thing.

This question is for anyone...is the stuff within walking distance of each other in MIDTOWN. Because of my occupation I cant fuck around with drinking and driving. So I wanna walk around and daygame. Then hit some bars in the early evening, to get spun up. Then walk to the local venues and clubs. Some one let me know.

I am not totally up to date, but a place with pretty heavy traffic day and night might be underground atlanta. Daygame might be more touristy. For local girls you might try lenox square mall in buckhead. Its pretty packed and about a 20 to 30 minute easy walk to major nightlife on roswell rd. There are some bars in lenox i believe and definitely across the street from the lenox train station.

Little five points and va highland are good too, day and night. Though lenox might offer maximum consistency in daytime.

Also try whole foods on ponce de leon ave. Can walk to major nightlife.

For college girls georgia state univ downtown is good daygame along marietta
st/ decatur st. Olympic park and underground atlanta can walk to. Logistics might be tricky.

If you want a high percentage of the darker complexion that would be found near ga state/ olympic park/ underground atlanta. In the suburbs there is south dekalb mall and surrounding area which is slight ghetto. Though nightlife is probably slim there.

But atlanta is fairly integrated so you will find all races everywhere.
