Thanks for the great report, Goldmund. Based on the Earthquake, you must have been in Mexico during the holy week when a lot of people have a week of vacation. Do you think that had some effect on the bar scene?

I was in Puerto Vallarta near the beginning of the holy week, and the locals said the place will be packed with people during the second half of the week.

Power went out in my building because of the earthquake while I was in Aguascalientes and tripped the circuit breaker.

All the food in my fridge went bad. Imagine coming home to that.

I was in the city for two weekends. They were both great. It seemed like Condesa was the type of neighborhood where people were out every night no matter what: a lot of money, artists and free spirit will do that.

And the earthquake was a truly remarkable event. I am telling my stories to girls back here in New York and making their panties wet with it.

Sucks about the food germanico. I came home once and my iguana had been dead for a week.

People were out yeah but it definitely was not as packed as it would be on a normal weekend. I was at Walther among other places on that Friday and it was maybe 1/5 packed. Manager explained to me it was because of Holy week. It was so empty he had time too make me try over 5 kinds of mezcal's and explained to me the difference in each and tell me about spots around city.

Worked out great though if you have quite a bit of time too stay. Since if you talk to staff they will remember you more since the places are pretty empty. Plus the museums and tourists activities,metro were all a lot less packed which made it great to fly through all spots easily and quickly.
