"You're sending a message out to people saying, 'It's OK, stay fat, get diabetes, everybody die. Lose your fingers.' "

The Fashion Police host conceded that Dunham is spreading her own unique message about self-acceptance, but says she should still try to look more polished.

"If you look that way you look, Lena, and that's fine and you're funny, don't say it's OK that other girls can look like this. Try to look better."

Rivers didn't stop there though. She also called Dunham a hypocrite for pulling a decidedly A-list move: appearing in the Fashion Bible and subsequently having her flaws airbrushed away.

"She was on Vogue's cover looking gorgeous, you didn't even know it was her," the comedian complained.

Joan Rivers is a real ass bitch. I like how she says shit like this because she knows nobody can feign 'outrage' at an old lady. My grandma once told me that once she turned 60 she lost her filter almost completely because people thought her shit talking was cute, to this day my grandma is hilarious.

Hopefully she keeps preaching the truth about these fatties.

The lady looks good at an older age. She took care of herself through surgery exercise etc.

That's the whole point.

If you're hung up on whether she was a naturopath or not I don't see how that changes the fact that the woman looked good past the normal age of most women.

Joan Rivers is from an era when women needed a combination of talent and class to make it in show business. That's why she's going after Lena Dunham. That's why she has an ongoing feud with Jennifer Lawrence too.

Joan has always been funny, but she needs to lighten up. She is hardly a beauty advisor. And if she's attacking Jennfier Lawrence, I disagree completely.

I agree with Joan, but this whole episode just proves out a well-known manosphere truism: that only a woman can publicly impart the (red-pill) truth about women---or any individual woman---without the customary opprobrium.

The fact that Lena Dunham is fat and unattractive is so gobsmackingly obvious it look an entire national media apparatus to get people to pay lip service to her "beauty". But her debacle on SNL may have been a turning point---people are smelling her blood in the water and there is now less cost to broadcasting the truth. The Empress never had any clothes, but it looks like it's becoming safer to actually acknowledging this.

It would be one thing if Lena Dunham had tried to make a career solely on her acting or writing chops. But that's not what she did---she tried to tried to seize the beauty mantle, too. That was always going to fail, on a long enough timeline, because boners don't lie and because genuinely beautiful women have too much to lose by her trying to move in on their turf.

She probably still has a place in the business. I've never seen "Girls" but apparently no one portrays the vapid soullessness and sheer selfishness of the modern American women like she does. There's a market for that. But it's going to get harder to insist on this "beauty" schtick---the jig is probably up on that.

I do watch the show, mainly for educational value. It shows us just low we've sunk. Keep in mind that it's in New York City. Small-town and country girls aren't nearly this bad.

Dunham goes out of her way to show off her lack of beauty. She is definitely the least dressed of the four stars on the show, and she's the only one who has shown her bare tits or her bare ass. In one episode, she spends the entire episode in a bikini for no reason whatsoever.

This is in spite of the fact that the other three women are much more attractive than she is.

Girls is one of those shows that is much more popular with actors and the Hollywood establishment than it is with the general public.
