RE: "So what do you do for a living?"
I typically say I work at a girly chain store at the mall, like Forever 21 or Victoria's Secret. I've also said hairdresser (I shave my head), owning a knick-knack store, or that I teach cooking classes for pets.

Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

My favorite is the follow up for when she doesn't like the playful response:

"No... seriously... *annoyed piercing gaze* what do you do?"
*smirk* "Plead the Fifth."

Worked on a lawyer once... too bad she was a lawyer.

I've decided my new answer to the question of, "What do you do?" will either be A) paranormal investigations, or, B) Evil.

If you are going to impose your will on the world, you must have control over what you believe.

I always reply "I make money in my sleep" which is 100% true, me being an internet marketer.

that and "if I tell you then I'll have to kill/arrest you" works very well.

A friend and I tested that one out working at a suit and tie job with really good gains.

"So Roy, if you had a job, what would you do?"

"I'm starting a theater. Right here in the village. It's a cooperative. Mitch is going to get in, said she'd paint some plaques."

"I said I'd think about it"

LMAO

I usually say "sexual revolutionary"

Not as a joke but because that's my actual job (see sig).

It's a fun job.

Usually women's eyes light up and they ask me in detail and we end up talking about sex for the next 45 mins.

this question is vexing to say the least. you mean to tell me that you have nothing else to discuss outside of work other than WORK...

who cares what I do?... just put these drinks in your belly and follow that up with my dick.

I tell them random shit that pops into my brain like "I'm in the process of teaching pigs how to fly"

RE: "So what do you do for a living?"
Ive always hated the idea of being defined by a profession. ive always felt like this but even more so in the past before i was what i would now co sider probably abover avg in terms of success. Even now though i still dont like defining myself by what i do for income. If asked what i do either a bullshit response like the prostate massage thing or just say i live. What do you mean. I like riding my bike traveling going to the beach i get high a little bit...oh what do i do for money...im self employed got a few diff tjings going on

RE: "So what do you do for a living?"
Okay, maybe this is an absolute dumb newbie question, but I'm going to ask it anyway;

Why do so many players avoid the topic of what you do for a living? I get that being mysterious is a good way to game women, I also get that directly answering such questions means you're playing the game on her terms which is not what you want either. But what if your job is pretty sweet, interesting or something you think the girl might be interested in?

I think that's the case for me. I'm a graphics designer and 3D artist and I'm currently working my way into the video-game industry as a game developer. Many women I've approached seemed to really dig the whole artist / game developer thing, especially because they don't expect it at all. Artists and game developers have this stigma of being typical Beta hipsters, which I am the complete opposite of. Showing these girls my artistic side is a good way to intrigue them. Them asking me what I do for a living is the perfect opportunity for me to show them this side of me.

Because the majority of us don't have interesting jobs like that.

I used to be a sound engineer and would tell girls I was a sound designer for film. That always worked because it's interesting.

I also don't want to talk about work outside of work. I ever did like home work.

Because you're falling into their frame. It's not always that they're shit testing you or trying to figure out if your job is worthy, it's just that naturally in most situations that is the case.

If you have a situation where you can demonstrate value through it, great.

However, in most cases it's not necessarily going to help you by answering her questions in a straightforward way. Besides, if you think she wants the logical answer most of the time, you misunderstand women. They want the answer that will play to her emotions and imagination!

Real text message conversation.

Girl: So what do you do?
Me: Prostate massage
Me: Rich older men mostly
Girl: Oh, where you do that?

We are still texting. They just keep making them dumber every year.
