This comes after PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to "wipe out Twitter" following damaging allegations of corruption in his inner circle.

You can't wipe out twitter without wiping out the internet.

Predictably enough twitter users in turkey just starting using proxies and other workarounds to access twitter.

The arrogance of governments is astounding.

This is unfortunate. Until recently Turkey's economy was growing rapidly and it was seen as a leader of the Muslim world (and an important bridge between east and west). This shows the weakness of the current government, and, if anything, will make them look impotent as people will continue to flagrantly use Twitter.

I think it's a bad move for them since they are reducing the right of their population. That being said, damn I hate Twitter! Can't stand it. I understand if anyone is using it for business purposes, but I simply can't understand why anyone would use it for personal reasons or to fallow celebrities. It takes you out of the present moment like no other things ever created
