I think the reason the original poster (OP) thought "80s" is because the music sounds 80s for people in the USA. In the late 1990s, people in the states were either listening to wannabe-Nirvana music or 1970s disco music.
A lot of 90s European music still had the electonica vibe to it (Vengaboys, The Real McCoy, Alice DeeJay, etc.).

Speaking of the wall. Here is something I have a hard time getting my head around.

You know those ugly women in their late 40s and late 50s in your office? Some of them were stunning when they were younger.

For some reason I find it hard to imagine that. A bit like being introduced to a guy - and then finding out he used to be a girl.

There is one old woman I work with who mentioned to her friends that she was really pretty when she was younger.

I have my doubts - but who knows? Plus she is Scottish - so I have to factor in the '+2' exchange rate that operates in that country.

A '7' anywhere else in the world becomes an '9' in Scotland.

Not sure why. I have some Scottish blood in my background - so don't think I'm trying to attack them or anything. Just trying to be honest.
