Some of you might have heard of Russia's thieves in law (Воры в законе), the elite of organized crime, especially if you watched the movie Eastern Promises (2007).

One of my favorite documentaries is Thieves by Law (2010), on three Soviet-born mobsters: Leonid Bilunov, Vitaly Dyomochka, and Alimzhan Tokhtakhunov. In this documentary, these three gentlemen are interviewed and tell the stories of their lives, and the stories are surreal indeed. Here is a 3-minute-long trailer:

I've seen this documantary, 'Mackintosh' Leonid is a straight up don. He oozes authority in his interviews.
