Notice that trend where random hot girls, not celebrities, have 100,00 ore more followers on sites like instagram? Simply because there hot? If shes a 6, she can have 10,000 followers. A 7 can have 50,000. 8s and 9s can have hundreds of thousands......

Its not good or bad but an interesting trend to look at. Just like paris hilton and kim kardashian got famous with sex tapes and nothing else, this is the next stage in "anyone can be famous"

the internet has commoditized fame in some ways. men are also becoming famous with youtube channels- vitaly has 5 million subscribers

That could work Roosh has had viral articles but the people getting really famous on the internet are hitting people visually. Hot girls on instagram, youtube videos by Vitaly, etc. A picture is worth a thousand words!

Back when I was experimenting with Twitter, I set up a few "play" accounts, just to see what works and what not without damaging my main accounts.

One of the accounts I set up, I used a picture of a girl as an avatar (I reverse google-checked it to be sure it wasnt very popular and thus not an obvious catfish account), set up a few random tweets, and waited.

Got around 3k followers in a month, and a couple of guys asked her out.

Which concludes that a picture of a woman is enough to get the attention of an army of desperate guys.

Account is now over 5k followers and it hasnt tweeted in months.

Maybe a way to nullify this effect is to make massive amounts of fake social media accounts with pictures of hot chicks. That was the number of followers on real accounts would be downgraded. You could even have a script that generated random tweets "OMG bad hair day <3" etc etc.

Thats what I did. It selects a random line from a text file, tweets, then deletes said line so it doesnt repeats.

Scraped 60-80 tweets from a random catfish account, nothing too personal, or time sensitive, like "I want a Starbucks Latte sooooo much right now", or "My coworker was wearing my exact same skirt and it looked horrible on her", and that was enough to get 5k followers.

What I use that account for now is that, whenever I want something liked on Facebook, or clicked, I tweet a small "please help me out and click like on this: (link)", gets me at least 15 or 20 likes per tweet. Could be more if I took the trouble to keep that account active.

Alot of affiliate marketers use this to their advantage and basically setup fake catfish like pages obviously not to talk to dudes but its super easy to get a huge following and everyone will like any shit you put up because you have some pics of a hotgirl on the profile.

I remember a Twitter account a couple of years ago that used a hot girl's picture in a football (soccer) shirt. It would talk about football non stop, and eventually got to about 9,000 followers within a couple of weeks.

Then the guy revealed himself to be a guy using a fake picture, and started outing all these thirsty guys sucking up to the account. Was fucking hilarious.

A lot of these chicks seem to live pretty leisurely lives, every day in new photos wearing expensive outfits, driving expensive cars, taking holidays. Some of them are just doing their own thing in their respective city for sure. But others are seemingly living a real high life, perpetually between Thai islands, in the $50 entrance clubs of Ibiza, on a new 100ft or larger yacht etc, especially the eastern Europeans.

It's definetely something I noticed when I used to use Instagram. I've since deleted that fucking heap of shit. Unlike twitter which can be for exchange of information, instagram is purely for attention whoring.

For a lot of these girls, social media is a business. Manufacturers contact them for promotional purposes, and the girls get free stuff (clothes, workout gear, etc, etc) in return for putting the product in their photos/vines/tweets/etc. Some of them are flown around to events (award shows and the like) for promotional purposes as well.

No doubt a decent few are into the sugar baby/sponsor deal, though. That type of thing is downright commonplace nowadays.

I didn't buy followers. Not sure that was even possible back then. But I did some high level follower spam tactics to build it up. I started on twitter in the fall 2008, but didn't start building up followers until around Christmas that year. Got over 100,000 in about 5 months.
