I guess Roosh and Tuth are "Do as I say, not as I do" kind of guys.

Come on. Roosh and Tuth have (correctly) overlooked all kinds of bullshit from senior and even not-so-senior members in consideration of the value they bring to the forum, so this is the exact opposite of reality.

Again, perspective. If Roosh and Tuth were the kinds of guys who banned posters of proven value the first time they were out of line there would be no one left on the forum except maybe Ali.

What does MikeCF's voice have anything to do with all of this?

I was with El Mech on the whole situation (Everybody just relax, etc.). Roosh is a grown man and could get his own lawyer and handle his own problems. A few of my friends have done time and they all say that it sucked but was not insurmountable.

Well they wacked Patron and he had a lot to offer when it came to the DR. And I don't really understand your Ali comment, he's been skating on thin ice for awhile now.

If Ali and I had pulled off some kind of prank like that I think we would have both gotten banned in some form.

The prank didn't really piss me off, but I think it's hypocritical.

But that is just my opinion.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

Sheesh, the Ali reference was a little joke. Where is everyone's sense of humor lately?

I don't know the full Patron backstory but if you look at what happened to Fisto in the DR recently maybe the mods had a point there.

That's probably why I was so confused.

But yeah, let's prank Roosh back.

I think I'm gonna fly to Wroclaw and set a bag of dogshit on fire in front of his centrally located apartment.

Yeah that ain't cool. His voice may be feminine, but say that to his face and he could easily beat the shit of you. There's not many men who are more masculine than Mike. No need to hate on a guy as soon as he leaves the room, so to speak.

RE: Reflections On The "Roosh In Jail" Issue
I want to make a final post about this and then I'll have nothing more to say about it.

Remember the hilarious double meltdown thread from three weeks ago when the first troll came out whining about the RVF member title system, and then the second troll came out whining about strict moderation on the forum? I'm sure you do because everyone was posting how this thread made their day and was enjoying the hell out of it.

I'm going to quote two posts from late in that thread, one by Merenguero and one by myself:

(02-10-2014 11:27 PM)Merenguero Wrote:
(02-10-2014 11:24 PM)Dexter Moser Wrote:  Lots of cute pictures. Not a single comment on why RVF is a better forum as a result of being less tolerant. Even "most of us like it that way" would be an acceptable argument.

Here's a comment. You have the Naughty Nomad forum which is not very heavily moderated and is therefore crawling with trolls, and very little useful information is posted over there. You then have this forum, which is less tolerant, and therefore has people who are more focused on improving themselves and helping others and less focused on engaging in pissing contests with other forum members. The comparative end results of each forum speak for themselves.

(02-10-2014 11:46 PM)The Lizard of Oz Wrote:  There are lessons here for newbies and lurkers alike.

Being a new member of the forum is a bit like being a foreigner coming into a country with a proud and ancient civilization. In addition to the obvious and stated laws, there are unwritten and unspoken rules and traditions that make the place what it is. If you are charmed by the country and delighted by the company of its citizens, you should take the time to absorb their traditions and learn the language. And you should reflect on the fact that if you like the place so much, then it is very probable that the way it has been run may have something to do with fostering the qualities that attract you.

Take it easy, go slow, and get a good feel for the place before venturing suggestions about how it should be run. And after a while you might simply feel privileged to have witnessed a Monday double meltdown rather than worry about what it all means.

Now here is my comment. The true reason why I despise feminists particularly is because they're fucking ingrates. They live in a world in which every last thing that they cheerfully use and take for granted was invented, designed and built by the work and ingenuity of men, down to the last little circuit element of their iphones. And instead of appreciating this unimaginable bounty that has been given to them, they not only utterly take it for granted, but want to shit in the face of the men who over generations of both patient painstaking work, and moments of genius and brilliance, have made the world in which they live and thrive possible.

A similar thing on a smaller scale is true of this forum. If guys love this place so much, if everyone says -- correctly -- that there is no other place like it, please stop and reflect that this didn't just happen by chance. It took years of work by Roosh and Tuth, day after day after day, most of which happens behind the scenes and which we don't even see and know about. And this work goes on at all times. This place is not just an accident of nature. Do you know how easily a web forum can go to seed and die? It's like a street or a house -- stop cleaning it, neglect it, and then come back in a few short weeks to see the chaos, insects and small animals that have the run of the place. This is the fate of most web forums. The fact that this one has survived and grown in quality over time is nothing short of a miracle -- but it's a miracle of work and good choices by both the posters that have made it what it is and the moderators that have created the conditions for it to happen.

In short. We should not be ingrates. We should not turn on the moderators for the least piece of bad judgment, suddenly forgetting about all the work they've done for ages, day in and day out, to make this place what it is. It's foolish, unwise, and unmanly.

That's it. Back to regularly scheduled programming.

Roosh apologized, looked like he meant it. Everyone get back to work.

Shit, i took a day of debauchery and general drunkeness, and when i sober up i found this little meltdown. Guys, between this and the Ukraine thread, i think we need to coll things down a little in the forum. As men, we have that capacity.

"What is important is to try to develop insights and wisdom rather than mere knowledge, respect someone's character rather than his learning, and nurture men of character rather than mere talents." - Inazo Nitobe

When i´m feeling blue, when i just need something to shock me up, i look at this thread and everything get better!

I can understand why lots of members are seriously affected by the prank, but with time, I hope most of those affected consider & accept Roosh's apology. You can see in his responses he feel's really bad about it and has already apologized, what else do expect him to do????

This is a great place to be, and the members who had threatened to leave for good remain highly valued and regarded, and I, as well as others share the same hope in that they return in due course.

3 day ban for MidnightSpecial for personally insulting another member.

Quote:Well they wacked Patron and he had a lot to offer when it came to the DR.

Patron is a confirmed troll and hater (he was gratuitously trashing Slubu). He has tried to come back under different aliases and has trashed the forum on NN, among other places. That's your shining example of an unfair ban? Come on now.

That came out to be an interesting social experiment.

One group cannot understand how that prank could be even remotely funny.

The other yelling Man Up!

The division is pretty stark.

It would be interesting to see a poll made up on male influence during childhood in both groups.

I would bet my last pack of cigarettes on absent male role models in the majority of Men Up! group.

Just to throw in my two cents.

Anyone who leaves the forum permanently after this fiasco are making a huge mistake.

This prank was not malicious in intent. Along with this, Roosh and Tuth did not fully understand the implications of this prank.

I am a big believer in second chances.

This time it was an honest to God mistake.

If they pull a prank like this again after seeing the consequences of their actions, it will not be a mistake. Then I could understand people leaving.
