I don't understand the making calls to contacts thing. As far as I know, most people don't know exactly where Roosh would have been jailed. No one knew what charges would have been levied.

So how does one go about contacting someone for help when you don't even know what is happening?

My other thought was, it's a Polish jail. How bad could it possibly be?

Now anonymous bosh has to explain he trusted a guy named rooshv.com. He has to out himself publicly to clear his name with his contact. This is not ok.

Now his biz contact is going to say "wtf who is this clown he trusts and why did I just waste my time?". You hurt AB's rep not your own, that's where the bad move is.

@wwt in a rare case we disagree, it's an awkward email for sure. I mean what if I emailed you regarding a biz deal and we had worked together for years then suddenly I sent you a bunk product... You'd at least be annoyed.

Very similar to sending shitty work to a client then saying "whoops that was just a DRAFT " that shit never works once you click send its done.

Good to know it was a prank because that's certainly better than what was being suggested. Initially I thought it was a joke but the thread with serious responses and Fisto and Lizard of Oz sounding so serious changed my mind. I still wasn't a 100% sure but the museum pics and the mysterious deleting of posts (one of mine got deleted too from the second thread) confirmed that it was all a hoax. Also, I believe Sourcecode in the chatroom overplayed his hand and it was clear he was trolling as the new mod of the forum .

For a few minutes I did feel an emotional pull but I am not too mad. I do agree that the joke was in poor taste. Maybe you guys have played a different prank to tease the forum. I can see the viewpoint of some of the other posters. I obviously have no contacts that could have helped Roosh in Poland but I wouldn't have thought twice about donating to a "Roosh Legal Defense Fund". I sincerely hope Mike and thedude don't leave the forum. They are two of my favorite posters here.

Yeah, I understand it would be awkward but it still doesn't make sense to me. I wouldn't be calling anyone until I knew what was happening. At the point the thread was started, I didn't know what he was being charged with or where he was at so there would be no point in calling in favors until the details came out.

Not to break the serious mood in here, but just a quick side note:

Maybe it's my personality, but I'm even seeing the humor in the blowback.

But actually, what freaked me out the most was the revelation that Tuth was going to start selling material created out of good will by forum members. I felt that this would ruin the forum ultimately.

Legally, any consequences that Roosh faced for a decision that he made (even in understandable circumstances), would be something he would have to deal with.

My greater fear was that he would give the world one more justification to disrespect us and would undermine the likelihood of guys discovering red pill.

Especially if a pay-only forum was available.

The forum is huge for me and others. At the last meet up that I organized, we actually talked about how hard it is to meet red pill friends through conventional means. This forum is a huge asset and keeping it free is important.

I'm glad that the "forum changes" proposed by Tuth fall into a category that he defines as "ridiculous."

After I found out it was a hoax I was seriously considering messaging MikeCF that it was a hoax because of a tweet he made earlier now I wish I did, sucks to see him go.

Sourcecode is a force to be reckoned with trollwise. He's pretty good.

I feel like Ryanair should have direct flights to Poland from Tampa now just in case.

I used to love pranks when I was a teen, so I thought this was a good prank. However, one criticism I have about it: it was not contained.

When I did pranks I was always there close to the victims to make sure the people involved don't go too far into it. For instance, I would prank my best friend who was in love with a 10 in high school. I would impersonate the girl in question on the Internet and invite my friend to her place for the weekend. Then the minute I logged off, my friend would call me all excited, and I would troll the shit out of him. But it was always between me and him, so he always forgave me after. I always made sure he didn't come in contact with the real girl or call anyone else to not damage his reputation in anyway.

So I think pranking on an internet forum is very touchy, especially that you have no idea what people are going to do. I'm just new to this forum, but I can understand people who really care about Roosh getting pissed off because they actually took actions to help him.

MikeCF is hands down one of the best contributors around here, so I'm pissed to see him leave. Hopefully he has a change of heart.

MikeCF and Thedude leaving is like Mixx leaving all over again. I hope they have a change of heart.

Shit like this reminds me that I probably spend more time on the forum than I probably should. I think that's exactly what MikeCF and thedude737 are thinking as well (they lead active lives) and I can understand their decision to take a break. Mike has taken breaks in the past over shit that annoys him so after this blows over he may return and continue adding the good value he always has. Many members would like that.

I've met Roosh on a few occasions so I immediately thought about that and felt bad that he stumbled onto some shit. I have no contacts in Poland so I couldn't really help him but I was definitely going to stay on top of the story and see how he was doing.

I can understand pranking your enemies about being in deep shit, but not the guys that bat for you whenever you call on assistance for some new culture war against obese chicks, feminists, or white knights. Just look at the response to the thread of that one loser who was hating on you in Poland. Men from all over the world who are members here were genuinely concerned for you and invested real time to help you however they could.

Anyway, these are not solutions I'm sharing so with that said, maybe a sincere PM expressing regret to the disaffected high profile members would be a good move, if that hasn't been done already.

I'm good on a public apology personally but I'm sure that's something more than a few guys would appreciate out of respect.

Once you lose one's trust you have to work twice as hard to get half as much back. Not sure why anyone would purposely do that to themselves. Boredom?

I think a few days will help guys who are currently pissed off appreciate that Roosh and Tuth didn't appreciate how seriously members would take it. Everybody fucks up now and then. Roosh/Tuth have put a massive amount of effort into this place and hopefully that gets factored into any stay/leave judgment call being made on the basis of this prank.

Well this is the aftermath.

I put up a post with a couple different pics and my theory.

I went back to edit the post a bit and I got a message to the effect "this message does not exist."

Was told by Tuth to play along or stay quiet. So I played along and even reported on a couple of posts that didn't help the thread

I thought the funny thing was my last comment in my post (the deleted one) "Surely Roosh has more than one shirt."

Obviously, there are multiple thoughts about what happened, but it was nice to see the genuine concern.

I do hope that this doesn't have any lingering consequences, glad Roosh is ok. There are far too many men I admire on this forum and would miss their presence.

I was trying to score dark triad points. If girls find out I've been in jail, I will get more sex, etc.

The funny thing is that that photo will certainly be used by feminists as "proof" I've been in jail. That was the only blowback I calculated when devising the prank.
