She literally ends all her emails with the same line, "Go join the other job bank in town, oh yeah, there isn't another one. Don't ever email me again."

"Don't contact me again", the basic template of a text a lot of us have received from women, women that get off on the little power trip being on the giving end of rejection gives them.

This is a perfect case study in why women should never be allowed to hold positions of power. This dumb bitch managed to secure a little niche for herself that gives her some power, and she loves every minute of lording it over people and exercising needless, harsh rejections.
I can't even imagine what it must be like to work under a female boss...

That Web page you linked doesn't come up anymore. But good research anyway. I did a search on the Cleveland.com site and it looks like they've done a bunch of articles on her: http://search.cleveland.com/kelly+blazek/

The most recent story has an account of a guy she wrote the same thing to. At least she's an equal opportunity bitch. (Link removed because their direct links don't work, for some reason, but you can access all the stories clicking on that search link above.)

I was once going to propose writing a ROK article saying the reason women don't succeed in business is they can't let go of their high school "mean girl" bitchiness, so both men and women learn to avoid women in business. If I decide to write that, this will be Exhibit A.

By the way, men usually can't behave like this in the business world for the same reason they can't get away with it in high school: when the day ends, you wind up with Max from the football team putting his fist in your face (an actual example from high school -- luckily I was not on the receiving end of that fist).

My link didn't work either. The link to searches did, though. Having worked in media, I'm not inclined to think this failure is a conspiracy - newspapers thrive on Web hits and would take them from prisons or China if they could. However, they pay poorly and attract bottom-of-the-barrel computer tech people, so you learn to expect basic things like links won't work.

I've done it several times, but will never do it again. It is, in fact, exactly as you imagine it would be! I've NEVER had a good female boss. The last one was in her 50s and not as bad as the others, who were in their 20's. Working for a "woman" in her 20's (heh...no American female in her 20s is *anything* but a girl) ought to fall under the constitutional restrictions against "cruel and unusual punishment".

The girl who blasted Kelly Blazek on social media, Diana Mekota, is just as bad or worse. Blazek was providing a free service to the public. But Mekota just destroyed that service for everyone else to satisfy her need to be coddled and pampered like a princess.

Lots of us in the professional world have been treated rudely. When it happens, you learn from it and move on. A person who publicly seeks revenge is a terrible employee. Period.

Would you hire Mekota? You know that the first time that little princess feels mistreated, she will start drama. She is worse than Kelly Blazek (who isn't exactly admirable).

Very good point, if you hired her, you would be worried about her blasting internal company info on the internet.

Life has been made too easy (in some respects) because of the internet. Old school networking would have been a formal letter introducing oneself and asking for maybe an informational interview/questions etc, and gradually earn some points from the senior person who may then want to help.

Networking is important, no doubt, but it isn't just inviting someone to join their linkedin network.

I have spoken among friends about how the younger generation deals with people in power. Generally, older people don't like slang in business (or any) conversations. Many have a preference for a little formality/humility when dealing with them. For the most part, this does not exist with young people. They are not taught protocol and worse yet they have the "the way I see the world, is the way the world is" mentality. I never grew up that way, I knew there was always something to learn and that I might be missing some data. It was a way of keeping me hungry and focused.

I was reading interesting research a couple of weeks back on the degradation of IQ: the theory being formed from the results wasn't that IQ degrades with age, as previously-thought, but that it degrades when we stop learning and accumulating new knowledge.

Now think of the uncurious nature of your average 20 year old, who thinks they know everything there is to know, and refuses to challenge their beliefs through investigation and experience.

It could also possibly explain why so many women lack mental maturity, and stay in a high-school mindset forever, particularly if they go into university fields that require blind acceptance of dogmatic thought, rather than critical thinking, such as Women's Studies. Look at the moronic nature of Buzzfeed, the dominant user group being university-educated women, and ask yourself what they're learning in their downtime. Women of moderately-above-average intelligence, actively making themselves dumber.

To my mind, IQ is simply a measure of potential horsepower anyway, and not, as too many people think, concrete intelligence. Use it or lose it.
