Hanlon's Razor
I've been doing some deep introspection, partly because I go out sober wayyy too much and because girls often bore to me tears.

1 consequence from spending too much time on the forum is that it potentially jades your view on women. Its almost like there exists a conspiracy for girls to rape guys (out of kids, money, status, etc). Don't get me wrong- I am all for seeing both (extreme) sides of the coin- good and bad, but many especially newbs have little experience and much keyboard opinions. Please stop.

I stumbled up this wikipedia page and it instantly sparked a rare nod of comprehension---Hanlon's razor is an eponymous adage that allows the elimination of unlikely explanations for a phenomenon. It reads:

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity- Hanlon

...misunderstandings and neglect create more confusion in this world than trickery and malice. At any rate, the last two are certainly much less frequent. —Johann Wolfgang von Goethe[11]

RE: Hanlon's Razor
That razor is the killer of most conspiracy theories, and can be fully applied to male-female relations as well.

RE: Hanlon's Razor
Haha. Never heard that one. It's good.

As far as women are concerned. I'm never upset when an individual woman looks out for her own interests, and am aware that this is often going to conflict with my interests. I plan accordingly.

To be honest I don't respect people, men or women, who don't protect their own interests. The problems arise when governments, or society in general, "picks winners". i.e. The state has no place affording women special rights above men. I understand the politics of why this happens, and is happening more in recent decades in the West, but that only make me respect politicians and the political process even less.

Then again, never attribute to Hanlon's Razor that which is adequately explained by malice.

Perhaps a Venn diagram is in order…

I agree with the Goethe quote, and Hanlon's razor is just a reminder of this, not a logical tool. There are indeed actions which could be interpreted as stupidity but are in fact the product of malice.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

I find that many people understand this. It's why they play dumb after doing something fucked up.

We were meant for far more than to suffer in our self created prisons only to die alone. It doesn't have to be that way. It never did.

RE: Hanlon's Razor
Go to a military base and you'll be disabused of Hanlon's Razor right quick like. Wink

(Watch Officer and a Gentleman. That is spot on about how townies try trapping soldiers into relationships.)

I don't think women are evil per se.

I just see game as a battle of wills.

When someone overcomes your will, they tend to oppress you.

Women tend to have a much worse sense of justice of fair play than men have. "Don't kick him while he's down" is a male moral code. (This essay really is must reading: http://dangerandplay.com/2011/12/16/arth...-on-women/ )

When you have tight game, you win the battle of wills. You then start to view women are harmless and childlike. You then start to wonder why everyone else is "hating" on women.

But let your guard down with your girl or girls in your harem. Stop running game.

Watch how quickly they will steam roll and oppress you.

I mentioned this concept in passing on a conspiracy thread the other day, but didn't realise it actually had a name. Good to know.

It is the nature of group-think that it eventually veers to extremes. Basically, as everyone agrees with one another, people start exaggerating slightly (on points of agreement) in order to win the respect of other group members; but this then shifts the equilibrium of the agreement a little bit further to the extreme, whereupon someone exaggerates slightly again and thus the cycle continues until the entire group agrees on extreme views from an initially moderate position.

This is part of group psychology and happens everywhere closed groups form, whether its cults, racists, feminists, red-pillers, conservatives, democrats, activitists, industrialists, etc etc.

That's why it's important to have social hobbies to meet different people with different views, or at least to belong to another group that does not share the same view (like a religious community). This protects oneself from following the herd, because you also have a supply of views from other places that do not necessarily agree with one group or another.

But yes, I sometimes catch my own mind going too far down the RooshV forum mindset and sometimes I have to pull myself back and remind myself to make opinions of my own, not just follow the herd. I also avoid the posts where the entire forum gangs up on some news article and basically the forum members just repeat the same opinion in different words over and over again, because that's the essence of groupthink and I don't want to be a part of that. It's also partly why I stopped reading ROK - the opinions expressed are too homogenous for my taste, and I think will slowly veer to extremism given time.

RE: Hanlon's Razor
@Thomas the Rhymer- I have an gut-level distrust for blanket authority. Its just too easy to get caught up in the herd.

I wonder what set you on this path?

I distinctly remember the time i flipped (at least partially). It was 9th grade. I did it the old-fashioned way:studied hard, did all my bullshit hw, followed all the rules and had very little sleep. What did I get? Mediocre results and a lot of headaches.

My family always told me "If you try, you'll succeed at anything." The dichotomy between what I had been told and what reality was jarred me out of obedience. If this was a lie, what else? Down the rabbit-hole I went. I started spotting lies everywhere-
- just take AP Classes that what colleges look for,
-you need to have community service hours,
-it doesn't matter what grades you get, just as long as you learn the material. Colleges adjust for "hard courses".
- Go to college. You'll make a million dollar more over your life-time.

Most people have no opinions themselves. Its like they parrot lines from other people. No context and no comprehension. Just a
sound-bite that may have some truth (somewhere) but is stretched thin over all scenarios. The more they scream it, the more convinced they get.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

RE: Hanlon's Razor
I don't see any reason to be jaded I just view girls as toys. Fun to be around when I am at leisure otherwise I don't care what they do.

I think the jaded people in the sphere are all failures. Every single one. No one with lots of success money, health, girls they like, freedom etc etc whatever it is you want is "angry" at the world.

So if a guy is clearly angry about "life" it means his life sucks. The most common form in the sphere is this they travel to a new country and realize it is better than the USA for pussy so then they get angry when they realize they can't go there this instant. So they dwell and get angry ignoring the good things about the country they reside in. Ie: they want their cake and to eat it too without paying the price for success which is always hefty.

Reading these types of people can certainly impact your own mindset as well just cut them off because they are losers and let them drown. Don't let the weak impact your own thoughts.

Similarly when people say "in reality" what they really mean is in their reality

So that is a dead giveaway for the lives they live
