Hi guys, I'm planning a trip to Puerto Rico in April. Im planning to stay for a week or two. I work online so I can stay for as long as I want really. Im sick of the states and need to get away for awhile. I'm planning to fly into San Juan or either Ponce. I hear Ponce has women with bigger asses and there a little easier to get with, and I think it may be a little cheaper for hotels. I don't know much Spanish though but im working on it. Mostly I want to just be by the beach, have internet for small work, drink and get some girls. pretty simple. So what do you guys think? anyone in PR around April?

Ponce has its own style, fewer tourists hit it than San Juan, and there's a strong sense of pride in the city among its residents. Locals like to say "Ponce es Ponce y lo demás es parking!"

Places that I would like to go to when I return:

-- Playa Crash Boat in Aguadilla, it's a cool place and there are a couple stands where you can grab piña coladas (http://www.paradise-puertorico.com/beach...rash_boat/)
-- Guavate in Cayey, for great food and drinks with a big crowd of locals. It's like a big block party (http://www.puertoricodaytrips.com/guavat...and-music/)
-- Culebra and Vieques, the two main landmasses of the Spanish Virgin Islands
-- A bioluminescent bay, the best of which I believe you can find in Vieques or in Fajardo
-- Shannan's Pub in Guaynabo, the girls were attractive and it seemed more or less full of locals last time I was there.

There is so much to do in PR. Every city has its own style and every beach has its own charm. I would suggest two things.

1) Rent a car, because some of the most fun things to do are dispersed across the island.
2) Make friends with locals. Every trip is better when you have a guide and companions.

The second point is especially true in a place where tourists are often viewed as easy targets. For example, some guy with a sign tried to charge my Puerto Rican buddy $10 for parking in a free lot and then was like "ah perdón, me pareciste como un blanquito" haha. Be cautious.

Im planning to do Ponce, I got my flight and hotel already. If i get a central location do you still think ill still need a car?
I just want to be close to bars and clubs and the beach.

You can avoid a car, but that's limiting yourself a lot. Sure you can stay in the confines of Ponce (which I don't know too much about logistically, except that yes, las ponceñas are a bit more down-to-earth than san juaneras). But like has been posted above and other threads, there's a lot to do in other cities and towns. Virtually nothing is on foot in Puerto Rico… a car is an absolute necessity. Ponce is also huge, so I'm not sure about the feasibility of being on foot.

It sounds like you're dead set on Ponce… it'd be interesting if you drop some data on that when you come back. Because if you want bars, clubs, and beach, all on foot, I would suggest specifically el Hotel San Juan in Isla Verde, where you have beaches all around and the best nightclub in PR, Brava, right IN the hotel. Problem is that plan will surely set you back more than renting a car.

Good luck in Ponce, curious to see what you come up with.

awesome, its settled I found a small car for under 120usd, im staying on Ponce because like Mixx said the girls look like J-Lo in her prime lol
