One would hope they wouldn't do that at a real funeral. But with Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr etc women become attention-seeking whores that crave validation, likes and comments the way a fat woman craves KFC. It used to be just teenagers would do these sort of things, now it is women up to and including their thirties and forties. A real funeral would be the perfect chance to show how 'patriotic' they are.

OK, it wasn't an actual funeral and it was an empty coffin, so headline is misleading.

Given that some of those National Guard soldiers have been to Afghanistan and maybe Iraq, plus have to spend time at many funerals, I am inclined to cut them some slack.

Being on honor guards at funerals of people you don't know sucks - I've been there.

It was stupid to put this on the internet, but morbid humor has always been a part of military life.

men in the military take pictures and post them too. sometimes these pictures are mission compromising also.

how do you the guys are beta? the military is full of dudes comfortable enough to do dumb shit.

I would much rather the people at my funeral be light hearted and partying instead of cold and sad.

I don't see the big deal. It was an empty training casket. Gallows humor is common among soldiers and always has been.

Reminds me of Brando's semi-insane rambling a in Apacolypse Now. "We train young men to drop fire from the sky, but their commanders won't let them write "fuck" on their airplanes."
