Do you think its true? Of course you won't if you're mom was a heroin addicted street walker, but what about other guys with a fairly normal mom? I know most on here are AlPhAzZZ but most of us will settle down at one point.

I've heard it before but never really contemplated such. My mother is considered very good looking for her age (mid 50's), and has a pleasant enough personality, but she's also a religious zealot and has serious mental issues stemming from her childhood and adolescent years. Two divorces under her belt didn't help, either.

The only parallel I could draw between my mom and my current girlfriend, is that my parents are about 6½ years apart, and my girlfriend and I are about 6½ years apart.

I assume any self-respecting man wants for a wife a woman that can cook and keep house well, and offer sweetness, comfort, and empathy to you in tough times. I guess those are pretty mom-esque traits, ideally. I mean eventually if she'll be a mom to your kids, it makes sense on some level.

As a husband aren't you also offering emotional stability, boundaries, money, and tough love? Fatherly traits.

Well my mom cooked, cleaned, and looked after me more than my father did(he is a religious zealot with no common sense). If I could find a woman that could cook as well as her I would keep her around for a lifetime, but I wouldn't want one to have her personality and controlling nature. My mom made me turn out pretty damn good, but I would never marry someone with her personality.

Well, my mom was the first person I could say was anti-feminist (told me that if a woman wanted to fight me like she was a man I was perfectly within rights to knock her the fuck out like one, told me to have standards and not spring for the first pussy I ever get, and taught me about what I now know to be the hamster).

She was also a control freak and an incredible bitch when she wanted to be. So if it came to raising boys and teaching red-pill I'd consider marrying someone like my mom, but for anything else, NO.

I think a majority of guys are going to want someone who was either like their mom, or someone who's the complete opposite. It's usually subconscious, so most won't realize it.

While it might be true in some cases, overall it's more of a feminist slur than actual psychology. If you're fucked up, you might have some sort of Oedipus complex, but most men aren't fucked up and don't have any desire to get a replica of their mothers. I could like a woman similar to my mother if I met one. But I could also like and do like women very different from her. There are many combinations of what makes a woman attractive. Only if we pull some extremely broad generalizations (equating a sense of caring with "mother", for example) can we justify this ridiculous assumption.

I think another factor is that a lot of moms are pretty much the same. I mean you really have your "cool" moms and your "mom" moms. Anything beyond that is really splitting hairs.
