I play classical guitar and I'm always looking for new music. Here's a list with my favorite websites for free sheet music:

1) Free Scores
Multiple arrangements and ensembles: solo, duet, piano, clarinet, violin, etc. Large database.

2) Delcamp
Decent database, includes brazilian choros for classical guitar, one of my favorite styles.

3) Guitar Press
Good variety on spanish music.

4) Dirk's Guitar Page
Large database, sometimes the arrangements are not very good though.

If you want some interactive transcriptions of contemporary music like jazz, pop, rock, metal, whatever, that you can play along with... Look up a program called Guitar Pro. It is a great MIDI driven program for learning songs and shows both guitar tablature and sheet music.

Only downside is that the quality/accuracy of the transcription relies on who made it, since everything is user submitted. But, the upside is that there are TONS of guitar pro tabs out there.

For instance, just google "stair to heaven guitar pro tab", "for whom the bell tolls guitar pro tab", or anything like that.

Another popular option for interactive tablature (without sheet music support) is songsterr.

Most colleges/universities with a substantial music program will have sheet music available to check out from their library.
