It might be a smart time to mine but I've been looking at the market over the last few months and the value of every alt currency I've looked at has maintained a low value with very little fluctuation in price. Even the graphics card prices(for the ones I recommended) dropped which is understandable as their value basically dropped back to what they were before the currency mining craze. I would not recommend investing in this at this time unless you want to pick it up as a hobby since the graphics cards are cheaper. The market has not proven itself and it looks like it was better to sell the shovels then do the digging.

Im giving it another few months I've been seeing new developments for new coins that work as in game currency for large online games. That might make mining enticing again but it's admittedly a longshot. If all goes south by then I have 2 cousins who want a pair gaming computers.
