Ukrainian plane makes emergency landing in Turkey after hijack attempt
Just another day in the world.

The hijacker yelled ‘bomb!’ forcing pilots to send an emergency signal to Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The hijacker may have attempted to divert the plane to Sochi, according to unconfirmed reports.

This just happened so little detail.

Apparently, flight was from Karkhov, Ukraine headed to Istanbul and the passenger with alleged bomb was in 2F. Demanded that they go to Sochi. Pilots acted quickly told him they were complying. Then the pilots quickly turned off in-flight monitors making it more difficult for the passenger to know where they were going.

As soon as they entered Turkish airspace - pilots triggered alarm. Jets scrambled. Landed plane and negotiations followed.

Unclear reports - some say the matter has been resolved.

I'll be honest - I am glad I am not at the Olympics. There are reports some security guards have not been paid.
