We all pretty much knew this is true, as it's red pill 101 stuff, but it's always interesting when a scientific study backs up what you believe:

The most striking result was in the responses of single women. Offered a single man, 59 per cent were interested in pursuing a relationship. But when he was attached, 90 per cent said they were up for the chase.

Men were keenest on pursuing new mates, but weren't bothered whether their target was already attached or not. Attached women showed least interest and were slightly more drawn to single men.

TLDR: Women are much, much more likely to choose a man that's already taken over a single man, all other things being equal. Men are indifferent as to whether a woman is taken.

My instinctive reaction to this is disgust, but then again, they've conducted similar experiments on other animals and found the same phenomenon, so it's hard to be angry about something that's biologically wired. A friend of mine said he got a lot more attention when he was wearing a wedding ring. Maybe that's something to experiment with.

True, but it does put in proper perspective many women's self-perception as the romantically moral sex...which becomes pretty hard to take seriously when they get wet at the mere thought of home-wrecking.

Considering the nature of female hypergamy and the link to the newscientist article the OP posted about single women being more attracted to men who are in relationships, by a wide margin, I'm considering a strategy and would like feedback.

In my next few approaches, I will mention my fictitious girlfriend. Then, I will try to get the number and/ or a date with my prospect. If there is truth to the article, then she should be more attracted to me knowing I have a girlfriend as opposed to thinking I'm single. Perhaps this should only be attempted if your target is not showing much attraction or interest as a bit of a 'last ditch' effort to generate attraction and secure the number close.

Has anyone done this. Another thought is to mention your ex girlfriend or better yet, ex wife. There is truth to that for me as I am divorced. Thoughts?

I wonder if there can be too much preselection. For instance on my facebook I have a shitload of pictures of me with hot girls, but for certain girls in which I have more than above average interest, I limit what they see on there. I still keep some part open for the social proof, but for a girl to see weekly new pictures of me with hot chicks, then she must think I am too much of a player or something no? Btw im speaking about latin girls here.

Or what do you guys think, the more the better?

This is one of the red pill eye openers or keys to understanding women without using a male frame of reference. A guy like myself for example...I'd probably back off pursuing a girl if it clearly looked like she was with a guy.

Men want to be pioneers and have/or bang what no one else has whereas women just want what the queen bitch has, what everyone else has already deemed 'the best'.

Pre-selection is the other side of the equation.

It's about hypergamy and pre-selection. If it weren't for female hypergamy then men wouldn't use/ need pre-selection. They go hand in hand.

Women are hypergamous, therefore seek to marry up in caste. A man who is pre-selected demonstrates that value of being "up" the SMV hierarchy.
