Could RooshVForum Become the Next Facebook?
Thinking about how Roosh got deleted from Facebook, and how much the RooshVForum has grown recently, I believe that this Forum could potentially become a social-networking giant, with a few tweaks.

There are already many thousands of active members here, and a big number of anonymous readers.

Here are a few changes that I think would great expand the forum:

1) Massive overhaul of user profile pages, in particular letting users add pictures. Essentially, make the user profile page like Facebook. Let people post pictures of their travels, girls they've banged, etc. Most won't put up pictures of themselves personally, but that's ok. Let users update their daily status on a sort of "Facebook wall".

2) Create an instant messaging system, for users to contact each other. An upgrade from the existing PM/email system.

3) Let users add other users as "friends". Within a trusted "friend" circle, even more info could be shared.

Obviously, these changes would require a big investment in resources, but I think the potential is there. Facebook succeeded when other social-networking sites failed, by creating a good user-interface, and letting people upload photos.

Yes it's a nice idea, but we don't want to become Facebook. While it's nice to grow the manosphere, there's no way this wouldn't add a poisonous element to the community as well.

We can not become such an open/public space as is Facebook till it is no longer a crime to speak the truth. We risk losing our livelihoods, lovers, some family, some "friends", and risk becoming complete social outcasts. We might be outcasts mentally - constantly wearing the mask of non-offensiveness, but the world has not found it's way through the murky fog of bullshit, and till then we must remain hidden.

Unless of course your name is Roosh.

You don't get there till you get there

RE: Could RooshVForum Become the Next Facebook?
The problem is most guys don't want to put their real identities out there.

The fact that ROK got deleted from Facebook should speak volumes about how we SHOULD be careful about how much we share.

Our enemies are rageful, bigoted and supremely desirous for settling up of perceived moral bank accounts. They think we have much, much to atone for and we need to constantly repent for not adhering to their anti-intellectual and supremely rigid orthodoxy.

I don't exchange personal information with guys who are not long-term members with a good level of rep. I would love to able to share more, but that simply isn't feasible. Shit, I can't even get away with posts on FB that touch only on narcissism, even if it's blue pill. I have lost many, many FB friends just by sharing TLP articles with modest commentary. The public isn't even close to being ready for our message, if they ever will.

How could you share more information if you are already posting pics of girls you've banged? I sure as shit wouldn't share a picture of a woman I banged if she could Google that information outright next to my personal information. I have enough problems in my life as it is.

As for an instant messaging system, we already have a chatroom. You can get quick responses to game and lifestyle questions, as well as a source for personal support or general shooting the shit.

Finally, long-term members have a good sense of each other's personalities. We are already a pretty close-knit community, I don't see any reason to change anything now. Like they say in the country: "If it ain't broke, don't done fix it."

Interesting idea. Not so sure I would want it to replace the forum. Facebook is organized completely around ME and the experience is MY experience. My friends are my friends. My wall is my wall.

The Forum - using an old school message board format - focuses more on the conversation, the debates, the news. Moderators ensure topics are not duplicated, so all discussion around a topic goes to one area. Other advantages of the current approach:

- community is more important than the individuals
- conversations are inclusive of the entire group
- there are rules of behavior within the group that enforce certain kinds of interaction, certain values
- promotes longer form content, writing. posts here are longer than anything I ever see on Facebook
- anonymity allows a certain frankness; FB is predicated on actual public identity

What you describe would be fun as a kind of boys club, posting conquests etc. Thing is all it takes is what nut job to turn to out all that information and try to ruin you, claim you fucked a 1000 women, etc.

The Internet was a much more interesting (and less oppressive) place before Facebook.

"Equality may perhaps be a right, but no power on earth can ever turn it into a fact."

"Want him to be more of a man? Try being more of a woman!"

"It is easier to be a lover than a husband, for the same reason that it is more difficult to be witty every day, than to say bright things from time to time."

Are your insights to date focused on individuals?

I ask this as in my line of work, behavioural finance is quite a leading theory, but we recognise that individuals act differently to the herd.

I mean, your insights at an individual level are brilliant, but a 'solution' based on these insights in 'one person at a time', thus implausible. I wondering if you have 'herd' theories as well.

Shaping the herd, ala marketing, is a different beast.

My perception of RoK is that it is brilliant and potentially ground breaking on a global scale. I don't know if Roosh envisioned his 'project of 2012' to be what I observe and frame what RoK has manifested itself as right now, but I believe it has vast potential, particularly with the right resources.

I think it's important to have a place where ideas can be shared anonymously. I agree with 2wycked's post here. There is way too much hate on guys who say anything that even remotely even questions feminism.

Facebook is for almost everyone, while RVF is for men only. FB and RVF are worlds apart, don't even mention them in the same sentence lol.
