RE: Strongly considering moving to LA
In my opinion, it's about time every young man looks seriously at living in a foreign country.

RE: Strongly considering moving to LA
"Hmm... a lot to think about. I have to leave Michigan, no question there, this place is a wasteland in every way imaginable. Plus so many of my friends have already left.

I like Florida, a lot, and have family there to help get me going. I also have friends in Texas (Houston & Dallas) and in Chicago, so those aren't off the table. Although, I really don't want to live in the cold anymore. My friend in LA has a crappy job lined up for me to get started, and a couch I can crash on, so that's better than a poke in the eye.

My bankroll is weak though, and that's really my biggest concern about California."

I wouldn't recommend moving to SoCal if your bankroll is weak. You will hate it there since the cost of living is so high. I used to live in West LA and my rent was $1500/month for a 1bdr apartment in a decent area. Plus, you will need a decent ride since you have to drive everywhere. I personally wouldn't mind living in LA (specifically, Manhattan Beach) if I was loaded, but wouldn't move back there otherwise.

If you have friends in Texas & want somewhere comparatively warm, then I say move to Texas. Austin is good (I currently live in Austin), but so is Dallas or Houston, at least compared to Detroit. The cost of living is low in Texas, so you will have a lot of money to spend on going out since rent is so damn cheap.

that would be kinda hard without a passive or internet business to support them. getting a job and working visa in other countries isnt easy.

LA is definitely on point. So is Miami and NYC. But I always found it strange that I must frequent "certain cities" that are hundreds if not thousands of miles apart to find attractive women. ATL is good too actually. But you def need a car down there.

No matter where you go in Brazil, Spain, Mexica etc, you will find dimes 80 to 90% of the time.

LA and NYC are sooo expensive! I want to bankroll my cash for investing or just comfort money.

Overseas seems like the best solution.

RE: Strongly considering moving to LA
Looks like this is a done deal, now I just need to get my ducks in a row and figure out when I'm headed out.

I've got a friend I'll be staying with, her and her roommate are cool with me crashing on their couch as long as I chip in a couple bucks towards their rent/bills, so that's reasonable.

Got a crappy job lined up to get by, and we'll see what I can find as time passes. I'm pretty excited about this, as I've just been floundering in Michigan and there's really not much left for me here.

Ideally I'll live in the LA area for a year or two, and then either head to San Diego (I love it there) or Dallas. Although, the lunatic in me wants to spend some time in Vegas and New Orleans. We'll see how all this pans out.

Good luck in LA, dude. I had some incredible exploits in southern California and Vegas during my college years. Plenty of fine ass to prey on.
