It's rap for white, left-leaning social-justice types who 'don't normally like rap'...if he had decent flows (instead of this grade-school playground level lyricism), or didn't have tracks where he hates himself because he's being forced to repress his gayness because you can't be gay and also be a hip hop artist, I could respect it, but...no.

I went to my sister's for dinner and saw some of it.
Waaaaaay too much hip hop, rap whatever you want to call it.

They never did say which one is Macklemore or the other guy. There was two of them.
Too many she beasts - Queen Latifah? Gimme a fucking break. Who wants to see that?
Beyonce? Good God, please go away.
And there was like a defensive front seven worth of other obese black women all over the place.

Madonna? Damn. She is straight nasty now.

Two good things: I now know who sings the annoying stuff you hear everywhere and the best -- that country chick in the short skirt. Wow.

Popular music today is just terrible. No way around it.

NPR did a little piece on the Grammies the other day and to me it just made it clear that even in their geriatric reunited version Led Zeppelin blows all these artists out of the water. (And yes, I know they didn't write a lot of their songs, either.)

I thought it was horrible, but then I'm into EDM. Even then, I didn't think the new Daft Punk album was that good really. I need to google the performance with Stevie Wonder though.

Yeah, Macklemore sucked. I guess you can win with sucking up to political and cultural interests instead of having real, actual musical talent. I thought Queen Latifah was going to "come out" right there and upstage everyone. I can't stand Lorde either, the sound is so contrived.
