I was only on OKC for a brief period before women my mom's age starting messaging me and I got weirded out and immediately killed my account.

But online, I sometimes do the same thing I'll do in person -- the old mistaken identity trick:

"Suzanne -- izzat you?!?!!"

When it inevitably turns out not to be her, I then cough up some excuse and say something like "Well can't you pretend to be Suzanne?" Usually they ask about her or retort that they'll pretend to be someone else. Which then lets me pretend to be people like David Bowie and say insane things like the following: "On your knees, groupie!! (No need to get offended -- the groupie turned out to be Mick Jagger -- ewwww!)."

Sometimes women find this amusing and go along with it. You have to be able to gauge them for fun-ness, though. A lot of American woman behave like a doctor took a hypodermic needle and sucked all the humor out of them at birth.

(Addendum: I've mentioned this before, but I call this "Beatle game," because I engage women in a comical theater of the absurd like the Fab Four did to reporters at their press conferences. This seems like it wouldn't work...but in light of how 99 percent of men communicate with women online, a bit of sly wit and/or out-there humor goes a long way. It also shows, on some level, you don't care and than she need to play into your frame.)

Many sites show astrological sign. If its that time of year, I'll say happy birthday and they'll wonder how i know that. It then leads into conversation into what are/were birthday plans, etc.
