I found an interesting thing that I wanted to share with the community here. If you guys are looking a for a cheap massage you might want to look into a local massage school.

When massage students are close to graduation they have to practice giving massages. The school that they attend offers cheap massages to the public. It's about $25 for an hour and tipping is optional.

Just Google massage schools in your area and look for a website or give them a call and ask about it.

You basically get undressed in a back room and wrap a sheet around yourself and they walk you into a large open area. Each table is separated by a curtain and there are a bunch of people walking around and getting massages.You don't get a choice of masseuse and there's not really any privacy.

Be warned, the quality of the massage may vary. They are students by the way. It's a novelty and something to do. You can spit some game and get her number if she's cute under the guise of repeat business after she starts working for real.

If anyone has gone for a real deal massage you'll know it's like $70+ for an hour at a spa but you also get the added amenities of lockers, hot tubs, saunas and showers.. The massage is an hour but you can hang out as long as you want in the spa.

But if you're a dirty old man like myself and want to get felt up by a college aged girl for an hour (non-sexually of course) ...$25 is not a bad deal.

You can find some deals for real deal massages/spas on Groupon as well.
Non-students of course.

I've heard this before.

Apparently, there's a lot of community colleges and technical schools that offer all kinds of services at a discount rate, the catch being that you've got professionals-in-training, instead of qualified professionals, performing the service. I may have to look into this for taking care of all kinds of business.

I have a regular dentist, but if I didn't, I might consider letting students at the local dental school do some of the work at a discount rate.

Haven't been myself but I've heard that culinary programs can be a great place to get a high-end meal at quite a discount. May look into that for an unusual night dining out.

My hair stylist(friend's little sister ) used to go the Association of Retarded Citizens and cut their hair for free while she was in cosmetology school.

There is some asian massage places around my city that will do a 1 hour massage for anywhere from $20 to $28 an hour.

This isn't the kind where you get totally naked though. This is called the head and foot massage even though they do spend a significant amount of time on your back as well. I almost always fall asleep during it and the asian women who work there barely speak any english.

There is an Everest college massage therapist school within walking distance of my condo though. I always see a bunch of white girls walking around in there scrubs. It would be a good area to hang out between the nursing students and the massage therapist students.

A few years ago I was working down in N. Charleston, and happened into a building with a massage school. It was like $25 hr and you could pick the gender. I signed up but never went though with it.

I did do the cheap dental hygienist school teeth cleaning. A coworkers daughter was having a hard time finding victims. She only gouged my gum once. In hindsight, there and proctology asst. schools probably aren't the best to game girls. Jus' sayin'.

Now back to massage girls. I think hitting up chicks in school, as well as beautician/cosmetology academies could be goldmines. Its cheap, good ratios, the male students are gay, and the girls are too nervous to have bitch shields. Plus, a lot of strippers go to massage school, and general washout chicks to nail painting school. Easy targets.

Make no mistake though, I ain't lettin' no school bitch touch the golden fleece.

I used to work at a restaurant in a strip mall setting. There was a cosmetology school two doors down, us cooks used to hit on those girls all the time.

Regarding the OP's point, if you get a massage for simple relaxation there is no reason not to try a massage school. It is completely different, however, for therapeutic purposes.

I get a massage about once a month, both because of past injuries and for general health purposes. I have tried many different massage therapists.

Men are far more knowledgeable about human anatomy and also have the strength to reach the deep tissue and to break up scar tissue. As in most professions that involve science, women practitioners do not seem to devote the same amount of time studying human anatomy as men do.

If you are getting a massage for therapeutic reasons (e.g., deep tissue massage) rather than for simple relaxation (e.g., Swedish massage) it is well worth the money to pay for an experienced massage therapist.

The two best massage therapists that I found are both men. (And yes, I tried a number of women.) Both men are well over 200 pounds and can reach deep tissue. They both also really know their stuff.
