RE: The Bangkok Thread
I had a Bangkok trip planned at the end of Feb for a few weeks, but I'm thinking of staying away from the city due to pollution now.

Is it as bad as it seems on the news? I want to be outside in the sun/pools/markets and not choked by smog.

I'm thinking of spending more time in Koh Samet or Hua Hin now, but the main point of my trip is sex (not p4p, don't want to go to Pattaya, etc.), and I think it gets tougher away from the city.

Any advice?

I don't have money to switch to Chiang Mai or Vietnam or something, so it has to be around BKK.

Money to fly. I don't have time to drive 12 hours and I'm not riding on a Thai bus. I'm almost 40, not a 20-year-old backpacker.

I feel that way myself at 27. Can't stand being around the locals on public transportation of any kind. It's a form of hell, but due to low cost airlines you're starting to find the true locals on planes now also. I flew from Cusco to Lima, and the white flight attendant seemed disgusted when this indigenous Cusco guy dared to ask her for water.

It's $50 to fly there.

Honestly if you haven't got $50 free why even go on a holiday? You'll spend that in an hour at most of the sky bars in BKK.

Don't forget the train - you can get a second class overnight sleeper Bangkok-Chiang Mai for $35, which also saves you a night of lodging.

I also have friends and other reasons I need to stay around BKK. Can someone actually give suggestions and not nitpick about ways to travel to Chiang Mai which I specifically said I don't want to do?

Thanks. I kind of figured the problem was overblown.

I'm not talking about some roadside stall next to the sewer but a nicer restaurant in a nicer area of Bangkok where dinner will set you back at least 400 baht per person.

400 baht = 12.xx USD at today's exchange rate. AsiaBaller? What a joke. Are you going begpacking for your rent next?

Couchsurfing and hostels in your profile info. 400 baht doesn't even cover the entrance to Onyx.

Western food in thailand tend to be low quality and overly expensive. I remember one day i ate the worst pizza of my life in siam paragon paying almost 600Thb.
In comparison with the Philippines or Indonesia i have rarely been disappointed with western restaurants. In fact i would say eating european food in Thailand cost even more than most of European countries...

I do have to wonder why the fuck anyone would even want to eat Western food in Thailand given that their cuisine is probably the most delicious in the world and is dirty dirt cheap.

I'm personally not even a big fan of Thai food and I'd still agree with this general position, why would you go to Thailand to eat Western food.

I also have to question where in Europe people have been that the Western food is the same price as in Thailand. Most places in Italy for example you've spent more than a meal costs in Thailand just for sitting down at a table, nevermind actually ordering something.

Don't go to Siam Paragon for pizza. There are tons of expat-owned restaurants that have western food at very good prices. If you get roped into tourist traps and mall chains, obviously it's going to be inflated. As for only eating Thai food in Thailand, try doing that for the long term and you will go nuts.

Depends how long you have been there. After a few weeks you may crave a steak or a hamburger. Theres no shame in it.

That reminds me of backpacker hippie dykes and how they talk. "Omg you're eating pizza?! But you're in Thailaaand".

Not sure if Asiaballer has even been to Thailand. Go to any shopping mall in Bangkok on any given day and you will find hundreds of people eating in restaurants that are 400 Baht per person or more. Normal people that are not hookers and not upper class either. Eating out in nice restaurants is even more common in Thailand than in many western countries.

RE: The Bangkok Thread
I don't understand the mindset of blackpilled travel trolls like asiaballer, it's always two extremes with no in between.

You can only either date a 4'8 dark skin rice farmer or a hiso clubrat freelancer.

You can only eat street food next to the sewer or a fancy Italian dinner with the other civilized people.

You can only either live in a posh condominium within walking distance of a handful of desirable bts stops or you can live with those scummy ordinary Thais in their third world neighborhoods.

By all means keep feeding people shit information, it at least serves to encourage other low lives to walk in your unrewarding footsteps or not travel at all.

So we have AsiaBaller who runs crying to the mods to ban whenever she gets called out for false information still being allowed to post.

AsiaBaller's posts tend to be on the negative side, but who would actually delude themselves into believing foreigners get cream of the crop Thai girls?

99.9% of them are laying or dating poor dark-skinned Isaan country yokels.
