Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
So it looks like Canada may be opening the doors to prostitution:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/supreme-...-1.2471572

Our conservative government has failed to appeal a previous decision that called existing anti p4p laws unlawful for a variety of reasons.

By the end of 2014, brothels might be opening up.

Owners of brothels in Vegas already plan on setting up shop.

No doubt a biz opportunity exists. The GTA (greater toronto area) is in the top 5 cities in north america in terms of population. The male population is oppressed, as already documented in detail here on RVF.

Seems like it's a 'can't miss' biz, assuming the laws do in fact get amended.

A friend of mine is seriously considering getting in this. There's a 0.1% chance I would join.

And it's that 0.1% which is prompting this thread....

What do I need to consider? as 'cant miss' as it seems? paying mobsters? getting high off my own supply so to speak?

any insights would be appreciated

RE: Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
I think prostitution was already legal in Toronto under a bunch of loopholes. Not sure exactly what they were but people are running escort agencies here already.

I'm wondering what kind of prices they charge. If this new regulation can result in lowered prices maybe you might have something....

I'm also wondering, how will more brothels opening up here affect the dating scene in Toronto? Will guy be less thirsty or will everything stay the same?

My guess is if anything does happen it'll affect higher end clubs where guys who are older and have money will go.

RE: Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
I think there would be a bunch of things to consider. My biggest concern would be keeping talent and your facilities in use to spread your fixed costs out over transactions.

torontokid mentioned prices going down possibly that is good and bad. Yes, more affordable for the johns, but now a woman has to re-look at this business if she is getting paid less than before.

my brain is too melted right now to go on some detailed business analysis.

But I imagine your concerns, aside from legal and mob related as you mentioned, is keeping talent. You have to think a lot of people are thinking like you are, usually in these new situations there is an overbuilding of supply. An overestimating of the success of a business.

You mention guys from Vegas are getting ready to set up shop in Toronto. How do you plan to compete with people who have experience in running such a business?

Fisto actually addresses this when he was running a strip club.

RE: Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
It would be a combo of what strip clubs, rub and tugs, and private swingers clubs do.

Strip clubs have licensing for the females whom dance. I assume there will be some apparatus set up for the whores whom want to work in your brothel and you would have to vouch them.

Rub and tugs find loop holes in by-laws to operate and these by-law are more favorable in North York and Peel regions. Trying to open a brothel downtown might be a stretch as you would get hit with a lot of residents trying to fuck around with your hustle.

Private swinger clubs operate on the basis I members ships that anybody has to "sign" for 24hrs which means they agree to the shit that may happen inside.

The goal from the get go will be to keep the mob and shit out. There will probably be a lot of firewalls set up that will be annoying but ice you get through then the cops won't hassle you.

If your 0.1% thinking of it, I am 20% thinking of this. The money to made would be a good chunk. Toronto is full of thirsty dudes and it would open up sex tourism as well from sex starved Americans. The only issue is talent. I don't want fat lazy Canadian bitches, I want money hungry EE and Asian broads whom just want their money and nothing else. The licensing will act as a fire wall to keep out foreign girls ...

RE: Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
I'm also wondering about the effects of this on the Toronto scene.

Less sausage fests at the clubs?
Less guys with decent game to compete with?
More girls thirsty because guys will be less willing to put up with their shit for sex?

Brazil has a very Westernized club scene in the big cities. But girls are very willing to go out and meet guys, as opposed to up here were the majority of girls going out are doing it for girls night out. That might have to do with the culture, but I bet the fact prostitution is very widespread has a factor.. Guys are more likely to visit a place to get their nut than put up with shit to get it. Makes many guys lazy to go out and put in the effort it takes to build strong game and hook up with quality girls. That only benefits the players.

They have legal brothels in the UK and Germany and Holland. It doesn't change the basic dynamic on the "free" market.

A German-style Partytreff seems like the easiest in. I wonder why this model isn't found in other p4p hotspots.

The new law now permits public communication for the purpose of prostitution.

That means escorts will need websites, photos, video. Maybe even PPC and social media profiles.

Something to consider for the aspiring webdevs/photographers/digital marketers out there. Lots of money to be made, and probably not a bad lifestyle business.

Can't have EE and Asian's without involving organized crime, especially in Toronto. Even north and in manitoba strip club bouncers wear their motorcycle gang patches to work. Just budget for the expense instead of risking your business mysteriously burning down one night. Canada's the real deal for organized crime.

Good call. I always assumed this for EE girls but even SE Asian girls come here via a tight pipeline

The best bet would be girls from SA. Not many other places where you can recruit good women whom will stay thin and keep their lifestyles clean.

But even with all of that. The money comes from simply just offering the space, logistics, and support infrastructure for people to do their work. In my eyes its like opening a salon and renting out chairs, that would be the ideal way to set things up. Rent out the chairs and boot women out if they aren't acting right.

RE: Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
Brothels are about five years away from becoming a reality in the city, I have a biker friend who is waiting for this to happen.
We already have these type of establishments here, they are called rub n tugs. I have heard some pretty crazy stories about spas in the east end of the city, one friend was telling me about milk baths etc.
This will not make the situation better for dealing with women in the city.
The amount of strip clubs, massage parlors and escorts advertising in motels is second to no other city I have visited.
The sad part is that i see young healthy guys in there 20s wasting their money in strip clubs.
I went to one recently on business, we were scoping a girl who is in school but has two properties paid off already. Crazy!!!

RE: Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
I actually invested in the legitimate industry here in Australia, it is very straight forward until you encounter some of the less legitimate elements.

Your shady competition, while operating legally, will you use not so legal tactics to ensure that talent stays with them, the rights palms are greased and their competition remains subdued. These people have no reservations when it comes to playing dirty. Even in a highly regulated country like Australia with a strong rule of law.

I got out of it pretty quickly.

As previous commentators have noted, mobsters and/or bikers will extract so much "rent" that you'll end up lucky just to break even. Attracting the talent can also lead to serious consequences from competitors. the reality is that one needs to be connected before entering a venture of this sort.

Good game is still required.

Desperate guys will fuck prostitutes whether it is legal or not, and non-whoring women will still try to extract what they want from non-p4p men.

The battle of the sexes is eternal.

RE: Brothel Business: Things to Consider?
Unless you're a thug by nature stay out of it.

Just because an industry is legalized doesn't mean it all of a sudden changes into a white collar industry. Who do you think will run the legal brothels? The same gangsters that ran it when it was illegal.

That's just the "business" side of it.

Then there's the employee side of it - does it really sound appealing to manage a bunch of girls from damaged homes with drug and abuse issues from damaged homes? And if you think a bitch slap can solve your problems with these hos, think again because since the industry is legal now you don't have the option of literally slapping sense into them.

If you're dead set on it and don't believe then travel to a country where brothels are legal - Australia, Netherlands, Costa Rica - and investigate it yourself. You'll see I'm right.

Most of you all have no idea what you're talking about. I don't claim to be directly familiar with it, but I do have acquaintances who have dabbled in it such as one who ran an escort business out of Toronto and another who ran a callgirl ring.

What they describe is radically different from what the posters on here have talked about. To the OP: this isn't the place to learn about it. Nobody on these forums has experience in the business. The site you want is a place called "The Pimp's Network".
