Ah, a thread with a race theme.

Beyond All Seas

To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes
frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Kipling

How the fuck is this abusive?

"Hey there, new guy!"
"HELP!!! I'M BEING BULLIED!!!"

"I really like that freshman girl from the class."
"That's COLD, dude."

"Him? Oh, he's a freshie. His parents moved here recently from some country in Africa."
"HOW DARE YOU, YOU RACIST BASTARD!!!"

Nowadays in the states, it's far more common for white kids to be bullied for their race. No surprise that the mainstream media doesn't talk about this.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., another sort of bullying:

'UCLA Prof accused of racist “micro-aggression” for correcting student grammar'

Quote:In a letter sent to colleagues in the department after the sit-in, [Professor] Rust said students in the demonstration described grammar and spelling corrections he made on their dissertation proposals as a form of “micro-aggression.” “I have attempted to be rather thorough on the papers and am particularly concerned that they do a good job with their bibliographies and citations, and these students apparently don’t feel that is appropriate,” Rust said in the letter.

Probably for having his first two posts being new threads in which he just drops the link and absolutely no commentary or description with it.

There are very few places where a kid would get bullied for being white. Chances are those schools don't have any whites in the first. It's much likelier that a foreign kid with an accent would get bullied.

In my home city of St. Louis, it is more likely for a white kid to be bullied. Kind of. St. Louis used to bus black kids to the suburbs as part of a desegregation program, this went on for 30+ years or so, but was stopped by some schools. What happened was initially the heavily liberal SWPL types supported the program, but then when the city black kids would pick on the nerdy SWPL white kids on the school buses they started screaming about a "bullying epidemic". The whole anti-bullying thing in St. Louis was basically just white and jewish moms angry and scared of the big mean black kids.

The majority of the black kids were good students and good people, but St. Louis city being St. Louis city.... you would have some legitimate thug types running wild selling dope and acting out in these quaint little SWPL strongholds. The whole thing was a big controversy because the parents wouldn't come out and say they didn't want to mix their children with blacks, they cloaked it in being "anti-bullying" but it was obvious to everyone what they were really complaining about. Also, some parents didn't like how the blacks would beat out all the whites for spots on the schools sports teams.

I'm sure that's true, but I guarantee those big mean black kids were also bullying the nerdy black kids as well.

No doubt, and black nerdy kids don't have SWPL mothers to start an anti-bullying campaign to defend them either...

Lol, this basically describes Howard Stern's childhood, except his parents told him to suck it up.

This is the normal high school shit that went on when I was in H.S. Its nothing new. The Brits are very sensitive about racism. I once said in "my country" blacks often play basketball very good",the Brits looked at me like I was Hitler!

I grew up in Pasadena, CA ~ infamous for its seminal busing (1969-1970) of white kids into the inner city. This was my first year of high school; I'd skipped a grade and was super-tiny for my age (5' until the 12th grade - when I (thank God!) grew 10'). It was also a time of general civil unrest as well as the Black Power movement. I was the smallest guy at John Muir High, and was REGULARLY extorted, beaten, and robbed of at least two brand new Schwinn 10-speeds. To say it was brutal was an understatement...and the staff would do nothing about it. One set of parents from our neighborhood made a big issue of the ongoing situation regarding their son; the culprits were identified and expelled. Two weeks later, someone broke ALL the windows of their '50s Moderne home (basically all glass walls).

I resented the hell out of the situation back then, but can look back now 40+ years later and at least begin to understand the nature of why that occurred...and when I see videos, etc. of people being bullied - it triggers that subtle anxiety without fail!
