Pullups are strictly Marine PT, in the Army ('04-'08) our tests only consisted of a timed run, pushups, and situps. At the height of the Iraq war, they even paper pushed men through who failed the PT test.

You'll only see a compromise on standards during low recruitment periods, and during peace time.

It is amazing for all the self-proclaimed rationality on the Left, something so mindlessly obvious shoots over their head.

Usually, the only sex-based difference you can drag out of feminists is male strength and yet, here, they ignore obvious differences.

It goes to show that abstract ideologies are more valuable than practical and efficient approaches to this sorts of people. People's lives and safety? Pshh. What is more important is some mythical goal of true equality where men and women do all the same things.

The problem with the lesser standards is what see across the board in this country. LSAT too hard because it has hard math on it? Replace it with the infamous "logic games" that aspiring law students bitch about. OMG, college is so tough! Let's lower the intellectual burden on the students. And employers wonder why most grads can't write, can't think for themselves and certainly don't have any true critical thought.

All of this bullshit is part and parcel of the closing of the American mind. The need to pursue mindless, manufactured ideological goals that bring zero positive value to America. Once this "equality" is achieved, what the fuck will the military look like? Reminds of me seeing Christian Scientist hold up their daughter's arm and say, "Behold, the power of God & prayer healed her!" While the arm is clearly disfigured. The cognitive dissonance is just astounding.

What matters is the narrative we are progressing towards a better future. The attacks on perceived conservatives/Republicans/red-pill types will only ramp up as they need to blame others for the failure of their corrupt ideology.

To look into the mirror is to see the monster of which they claim others are, but simply are themselves.

You can't just give a female a little more time and expect her to overturn the standard that hundreds of thousands of years of evolution has established.

The military know this. The military does not want females in combat (real combat, not support jobs on forward bases). They can't outwardly say this of course, because the feminist crusade would rather get a bunch of people killed in the name of equality.

This is why they are trying to establish the same-sex strength standards. This is the politically correct way of telling the feminists to go fuck themselves.

It is also worthy to note that a "pull-up" for the USMC PFT can be either a pull-up or a chin-up. I think 99 out of 100 people would agree that a chin-up is WAY easier.

I remember when the Commandant of the Marine Corps (I think it was General Mundy) proposed in 1991 or thereabouts that the USMC should be all male. Not just all male, but all SINGLE men. He caught a ton of flak for that, and the press pilloried him, but looking back over the past 20+ years, I think his advice was good.

I was on active duty in the USMC from 1990-1994 and then in the reserves for six years after that. I never once saw a female who could hack it like a man could. Period. But the press never reports this. They always find a way to cover it up, or obfuscate the issue somehow.

Now they have men and women mixed together completely in units...and the standards have been modified. Downwards, in my opinion.

The only reason this country can afford this nonsense is because it is so wealthy and prosperous. If we ever faced a real war again--like a WW II type of war--all this gender equality bullshit would go right out the window.

I found the link on General Mundy's "single men only" proposal for the US Marines from the early 1990s:

Basically, he was proposing making the USMC an all-single male force. Would have been cost-effective, combat efficient, and saved a lot of hassle with social engineering experiments.

Maybe I should do an article about this at ROK.

Looking back on this incident now, in 2014, it is amazing to me how much has changed. Even though Mundy had to backtrack, he at least proposed it. And tried to slip it through. Can you imagine a general trying that today? No.

He would be crucified.
